'All I want for Christmas' quietly echoed through the apartment, almost undetectable under the loud laughter.
“Pangi, I think you’re getting a little too competitive. It’s only a game of Monopoly.” Aimsey raised an eyebrow at him, unable to hide the grin spreading over their face.
“Only a game of Monopoly?!” Pangi gasped. “Over my dead body, I’ll let this idiot win. I always win when we play games. And, this definitely won’t be the first time, especially not when it’s Monopoly!”
“Pfft- skill issue is what I call that, sir.” Lukey laughed at his boyfriend’s frustration.

When the door of the elevator opened again, it was like a switch was flipped. Their bickering stopped and suddenly the atmosphere around them became very serious. They were only scientists now. Not people with morals, who valued human rights. Only scientists.
This was the price you paid, when working for ‘The Null’. You were forced to forget everything you stood for. The chance of a breakthrough was more important than anything. Even if this meant breaking several laws in the process.

Pangi could still remember the exact moment it had happened. The first time he’d felt that intense wave of cuteness aggression that the rest of the world called ‘baby fever’.
Before it had happened to him, he’d always laughed at the expression. Feeling feverish because you saw a cute child? Pfft, what an insane reaction. Babies are only babies and how could you forget that most of them caused so much chaos and spent more time of the day crying than sleeping.
He wasn’t so hormone-piled that he’d overreact that much when being confronted with a high-pitched giggle.
Well, that was at least until that one evening on a November day in the year 2025.----------
