Summary
Roger can’t say for sure when the changes started, or what even set them off in the first place, but Buggy had begun to make himself…smaller. Quieter. There were some days that, unless Roger actively searched him out, he wouldn’t see Buggy once.
Or, Roger has noticed a strange shift in how Buggy-and by extension, Shanks-has been acting for the past few months. He figures it's about time he got to the bottom of it.

A familiar smirk fell into place over the Cat King’s face. “Oh?” He hummed, “what’s this? Is our prim and proper little ghostie concerned about little ‘ol me?” The smirk stretches wider as he sends the detective a flirtatious wink. “I wasn’t aware you cared so deeply about me, admit it. You care, don’t you?”
Edwin lifts his chin in defiance, unwilling to play this little game Thomas was starting in order to distract him from the conversation at hand. “Yes.”
Or, Edwin sticks his nose where it doesn't belong and accidentally unlocks the Cat King's secret backstory

The little dots pop up immediately, which Chris wasn’t expecting.
I’m not sure. I do know that it technically wasn’t a box, it was a pithos, which is like a big jar they used for storage. Box is a mistranslation, but it became so widely used that we all just roll with it now.
It’s a very classic Buck response. The dots keep going.
On that note, “hope” isn’t an exact translation either. Another way that people translate it is “deceptive expectation.” Hope isn’t necessarily deceptive, and we tend to use it in a positive way, so it’s maybe not the BEST word to use, but I guess in English we don’t have a better one for “deceptive expectation” and “hope” sounds pithier.
