Summary
“I mean our mutual friend back when we first met.”
Larry stared at him like he had lost his mind, ironically.
“Nick.”
“No, our childhood friend”
“I said Nick!
“No, I'm talking about a woman.”
Larry stared at him for several seconds as his mind apparently buffered.
“... Maya?” he guessed finally. Miles pinched the bridge of his nose, feeling tested.
“From our childhood.”
“Our only childhood friend is Nick!” Larry insisted and Miles felt a stab of pain behind his eyes.(It turns out that Miles did not, indeed, put two and two together about his childhood friend and his current friend and lawyer who has always talked to him with a little too much familiarity. Surely he won’t find this out in a very, very stupid way, right?)

Summary
His first mistake is not picking up the phone.
In Jud’s defense, it’s been a long fucking day. And not one that he’s keen to recount.
He’s kept the damn thing turned off for most of the day. As a rule, he stays fairly available on Sundays, but—well, extenuating circumstances call for extreme reactions. Thankfully, he had kept enough of his head after Mass to force a shutdown instead of what he wanted to do, which was to hurl it against the wall and watch it shatter into a million tiny pieces.
Night is young, though.
Or: A Wicks truther comes after Jud in the middle of Mass. He's fine. Benoit disagrees.

Summary
This is little moments from the movie where I want, ‘wow I wonder how Juds alluded to previous life impacts how he thinks and feels in these scenes. It must really suck’ and then I wrote all that down. They are connected in that they all take place in the course of the movie, but they are standalone chapters in that they don’t have a ton of narrative growth since again it’s just scenes from the movie but if Jud had a really chatty internal monologue that we could hear
