Once again, imminent death aside, Arthur felt a particularly indignant anger that these two, of all guys, were the ones to get the drop on him. He would’ve blamed Eames, as it was helping him evade capture that distracted Arthur enough to get grabbed, but the way things were now, that was hardly fair.
Eames’ mission hits a speed bump. Covers are blown, lives are risked, and lung capacity is severely tested.

Summary
Bit of an explanation for you: back in 2015(!), I took on a self-imposed writing challenge. To write a short fic every day for about a month. Now, I didn’t end up lasting the entire month, but I DID write a lot. I want to say about fifteen little stories, give or take. None of them are anything super in-depth or fancy - I was just trying to write, write, write. And looking back on a few of them, I think they’re actually pretty okay.
So, to that end, I’m gonna put a few (if not all) of them up here, on Ao3. Don’t expect anything too quickly though; unfortunately my rough drafts seem to have disappeared, so I’m having to copy/paste everything from tumblr into my notes, paragraph by paragraph.

They haven’t spoken in months, not since Steve pulled away and Eddie started acting like they’d never been close. Now they’re stuck in a honeymoon suite, faking romance while barely holding it together.

His eyes widened and he could feel his breathing speed up, and he tried to calm down, he really tried, but he couldn’t, because he just broke one of Joyce’s cups and she was going to be so disappointed, she would kick him out and Hopper would be angry and maybe he would hit him just like-

Eddie’s head is spinning, needing to fix this and not knowing how. As usual, his mouth is miles ahead of his brain, words falling over themselves in their hurry to get out.
“I didn’t mean it like that. I was just — I mean, it is a little bit funny, right?” Eddie says. He’s sweating now and it’s sure as shit not just from the heat.
“Yep. I get it. It’s hilarious.” Steve’s tone is clipped as he gestures toward the door. “I’ll just go, and you two can laugh it up for the rest of the night, okay?”
