Rumi sat with her knees tucked up to her chest, with her back pressed against the couch. She let out a sigh, and leaned her head back so she was looking straight up at the ceiling. This is a terrible idea, she thought. What if my voice cracks? I haven’t seriously sang in years, not since those vocal classes Celine made me take. Zoey let out a squeal of delight as she plopped down next to her on the couch.
“Okay, so, I have a couple different songs I’d love to hear you sing, so let’s just start out small. How does that sound?”
“Sounds good,” Rumi murmured. Zoey opened one of the many notebooks she had gathered and began flipping through it. She squinted at the pages as she went through, before she stopped on one and handed it over to Rumi.
“Just these right here please,” she said as she pointed at a few lines of words. Rumi nodded, and took a deep breath to steady herself.orrrr
a post-college au fic where Jinu and Rumi are siblings and Rumi needs a place to live so she moves in with Jinu's friend Mira and her cousin Zoey. Zoey falls head over heels for Rumi, Rumi is oblivious, and Mira loves it way too much.
