“Wait,” Alex said as he realised Yassen was still carrying the sleepy bird in his arms and didn’t seem to have any immediate plans to stop. “Are you kidnapping a chicken?”
Yassen looked over at him and raised an eyebrow. “No, of course not.”
“You’re literally holding it. Right in front of me.”
“Yes? Because he is my chicken.”
“No he’s not!”
After overhearing a suspicious phone call from a stranger, Alex goes to investigate a rural farmhouse. He suspects a plot, a new scheme to take over the world. What he finds is a chicken. Oh, and Yassen Gregorovich is there too.

“Real?” Chishiya supplied, tilting his head, smugness rendered pixel-perfect. “I’m standing on your floor. If this is a metaphor, it’s a very tactile one.”
Arisu stared.
“This is,” he said finally, because silence felt worse, “a bug.”
Chishiya smiled. “Of course it is.”

Summary
He breathes against Chishiya’s mouth, wet heat between them, his hand still working. Chishiya’s own hand comes up to Arisu’s throat in mirror. The touch is light. The intention isn’t.
“Do you trust me?” Chishiya asks, almost absentminded. There’s more static in his voice now, less velvet.
Arisu lets out a short laugh because the word is ridiculous here, now, forever. He thinks trust is a door with hinges rusted from the inside; he thinks he can lean against it and use it without asking it to open. “No,” he says.
Chishiya’s mouth sharpens. “Good boy,” he says, and it isn’t praise like sugar; it’s a properly labeled vial.

The Beach hums with light and lies, every shadow carrying a sharper edge. Arisu tells himself he’s only here for air. Chishiya shows him otherwise.
