Summary
Thin pianist fingers trail along the wooden paneling, pausing at doorways and hallways. A head tilt, a holding of breath, tight in his chest, until it all whooshes out in a quiet huff. Nobody. Nobody was awake at this time. Upstairs and downstairs, you could hear a pin drop. His hearing had always been extraordinary. Doctors had confirmed it was an unusually strong sense of his.
That came in handy, at times like these.
He walks down the hall, fingers trailing silently, only four taps on the wood. A pause, a quick shuffle of feet, repeat- until the cool night air hits your face and the starlit nightingale song lulls you to peace. Usually, Arthur would pause and listen. 'Stop and smell the roses,' if you will.
But the press of a worn, leather-bound book to Arthur's chest meant there would be no stopping tonight.
OR
A fourteen-year old boy, blind since birth, vanishes in the middle of the day. Panic erupts, barely concealed under whispers of secrecy. Head Matron, Marie Pilon, heads to a childhood friend and gets recommended to talk with a consulting detective and his somehow not-boyfriend-but-still-kinda-boyfriend podcaster.
The game is, of course, afoot.

Summary
John was used to Arthur fidgeting. Even when frozen still, barely breathing in fear of being caught, Arthur was moving. John always contributed this to adrenaline, of Arthur's body in fight or flight.
But now that they're not running for their lives, John notices that Arthur still moves.

In reality, John’s physicality is more like a spoiled housecat.
'One would think,' Arthur says into the rumpled night, 'That our experiences would have given us a higher tolerance for discomfort.'
John scoffs and wiggles in closer, front pressed to Arthur’s back shoulder to ankle, left arm tight around his side, hand loosely clutching Arthur’s nightshirt, right above his heart.
'Why the fuck would it work that way? We suffered enough, I want to be comfortable now.'"
In which they get to be comfortable, and Arthur learns John's body.

Summary
Slowed by a snowstorm on their way to Albany, John and Arthur take refuge in a small cabin. In one universe, Arthur realizes that John has not only taken over his hand, foot, and eyes, but also whatever portion of him is responsible for the common cold - and how do you take care of a being who has no body to take care of?
In another universe, Arthur is the one to wake with a raging cold. Having suffered worse, he insists on persevering to Albany... only to be stopped by John. The god fragment has never been anyone's nurse, but he makes a solid effort whilst sorting through yet another new feeling.
(And a little bonus chapter where pre-canon Arthur takes care of sick Parker. Just for fun.)
