Soon he wouldn’t be the one looking up, but looking down, joining the array of stars on nights when the sky is clear. Painting the clouds with bright colors at sunset when he was gone.     Katsuki Bakugou, lead singer and the star of an up-and-coming rock band, needs to write a set amount of love songs as per the contract with his label.

    The bad news is: he sucks at it. The even worse news is: they need to hire a dorky-looking lyricist who always manages to get on Katsuki's nerves to help them out.

    Izuku Midoriya is elated to be the lyricist for one of the coolest new bands of the century, really he is!

    But it would've been... a lot more enjoyable if the hotheaded lead singer didn't glare at him so harshly every time they work together! This is going to be a very difficult partnership indeed.

    “He thinks that’s the end of it and he’ll be able to wake up feeling well rested but when he comes to, screaming and sweating, he can’t help the exhausted sob that wracks his body as he buries his face in his hands. He’s exhausted but he can’t stay asleep. Flashes of the nightmare he just woke from flash behind his eyes and he wishes he could forget what he had seen just like he had with all the others.”

     

    Or: Izuku unknowingly gets hit with a quirk that keeps him from falling asleep. His dreams plagued with nightmares keep him from sleep until it evades him completely, leaving him desperate to get some kind of rest.

    “You look like a goddamn toddler,” Katsuki mutters, annoyed. “What the fuck kind of grown ass man leaves the house in All Might pajamas?”

    “The kind who gets woken up in the middle of the night because you decided to commit assault in a bar!”

     

    Or: Drunken nights, a kiss, ghosting and a birthday trip crammed with boats, booze, and bad ideas.

    He wasn't there.

    Scratch that. He wasn't anywhere in the bloody school.

    After the nurse said he hadn't come into her office, he'd run up to the roof, but he wasn't there either. At least he wasn't stupid enough to take his advice then. After Katsuki had checked his locker, the bench where he ate lunch, and the library though, he started feeling uneasy again. Maybe he had just gone home? Or was at the park in their neighborhood? It wasn't like Deku to ditch school, no matter how badly he was bullied. He hadn't in years, at least.

    Katsuki's legs were carrying him back again to the shitty apartment he'd been avoiding for years, a sense of dread settling in the back of his throat. If that stupid bastard thought he could run away again, he'd have to put the thank you on hold temporarily until he finished killing him. He took a short detour to check the park between Katsuki's house and Deku's building, but no luck there either. He kept running.

     

    Or alternatively, after an unsuccessful suicide attempt, Izuku and Katsuki try to protect each other the only ways they know how. As Izuku walks a dangerous tightrope, Katsuki simply tries to hold onto him as the thought of losing Deku again takes its toll.
