After attending college for a month and a half Luz is getting help from Amity for a class assignment to get the shed scales of a tricky demon, Amity helped Luz catch it in no time.
Luz:That was so easy thank you Amity.
Amity: No problem I am always glad to help you.
As they were walking through the forest they heard a buzzing sound. They saw the source of the sound and it was a swarm of fire bees but they were a variant covered in blue fire. Before Luz could react Amity quickly hugged her as she made a pillar of abomination goo to entrap the fire bees before impaling them as she covered Luz and herself in a protective abomination dome.
Luz: Wow you were quick Amity. Amity?
Amity was clinging on to Luz and shaking, her eyes are glowing pink as she keeps muttering not again, not again over and over.
Luz: What is it hermosa(beautiful) speak to me!?
Luz kissed Amity on the forehead and she calmed down.
Amity: I am sorry, I had a flashback to the incident during Grom.
Luz knew what she was talking about. Their second time at Grom as a couple went fine until something unexpected happened. The Collector attended and he was enjoying Grom, Willow and Hunter just beaten Grometheus. However the worst scenario happened a piece ended up attacking the Collector. Everybody was scared of what they would see such as the former emperor, the warring titans, or the archivists, but it was none of that. The most traumatic thing the Collector has ever faced was seeing Luz disappear. However due to a strange reaction with the Collector everybody else namely Luz’s friends were stuck in the moment and they reacted like how Eda and King did when they saw Luz disappear. Gus’s eyes glowed blue as he inflicted on Grometheus every single defeat it has ever faced all at once, Willow whose eyes were glowing green made armor out of what looked like a entire forest to rip Grometheus apart, Hunter was moving around like a lightning bolt every time he struck Grometheus it looked like a lightning storm kept hitting it, Vee was inhaling magic nonstop as she felt she lost her beloved sister, and Amity with her glowing pink eyes was ripping the imposter of her Luz apart. Luz returned from the bathroom and saw what happened. She was able to calm everybody down and stop Grometheus with a blast from String Bean. After that the Collector turned Grometheus into a puppet so while it could still scare people it could never escape on its own again.
Luz: I am sorry those blue fire bees reminded you of that.
Amity: What kind of girlfriend can not be there to save you. That was a million times worse than me failing to protect you on the day of unity.
Luz: You did protect me.
Amity: You were the only one to get a scar, and you were protecting me when it happened.
Luz: Amity if it were not for you I would have lost an eye, arm, leg, or worse. The only reason I can stare at your golden eyes with mine is because of you. It is not like you failed how I did during Eclipse Lake.
Amity: Luz you were too sick to help me.
Luz: And you were out of magic during that time when we came back from the human realm.
Amity: I still had Ghost and glyph papers I could have protected you. What kind of girlfriend am I?
Luz: You are the girlfriend I love. Listen while we both know I will risk my life for those I care about I love you so much if you needed a heart transplant I would give you my corazon(heart).
From years of being with Luz Amity knows more than enough Spanish to know what she is saying.
Amity: But that is fatal.
Luz: And my only regret is I do not have a bile sac for you.
Amity: Luz you have a kind heart but even if you gave me your heart I would not have the sweet kindness you give me. I would tell you that you are being ridiculous but to be honest I would do the same for you, at least I would know you could use my bile sac to keep yourself safe and you can finally use magic on your own but I know you would not want that.
Luz: Of course I would not want that, Amity I have never told anybody this since it is so embarrassing but before I knew magic was real I believe the only actual real magic is love but if you were to be gone all the magic in my life would disappear even if I had a bile sac in me. This is going to sound cheesy and really embarrassing but I may not have a bile sac but my heart is filled with magic and that magic is my love for you.
Amity: That is ok I really love it when you get passionate like that especially if it is cheesy. You opened up about that but I have not even told you about this silly fear I got.
Luz: What fear?
Amity took a deep breath.
Amity: On a walk I saw a small demon with fur like your hair getting eaten then I had a nightmare of you getting eaten, knowing you even if something ate you I would not be surprised if you fought your way out, but I am scared of that happening. I know there are also dangerous animals in your world but I am so scared of it happening on the Boiling Isles which is why I said you have to take me with you whenever you will encounter a wild demon.
Luz hugged Amity.
Luz: I understand completely more than you know. Once when I was flipping channels I do not know what I saw a action movie, a documentary, or a horror movie but I saw a victim of violence with hair the same color as yours and I became terrified that some mugger on Earth will take you away from me. I know the Boiling Isles has criminals too and you would win a fight easily but I am scared of a violent tragedy would happen if you were on Earth alone that is why I insist on always going with you. I know it is stupid but I worry about you.
Amity: Wow we really do share many things, since you so honest I will tell you something I do not want to admit, not even to myself.
Luz: You do not have to.
Amity: No I must.
Luz was as quiet as she could be to hear Amity.
Amity: During that incident at Grom where I saw how I lost you I was not ripping apart the copy I was trying to free what I thought was you.
Luz: But you would have been a goner too.
Amity: If I could not save you I was fine with that, in fact I prefer it. Until the real you came back it felt like my heart has stopped for all I know it did and it only started beating again when you came back that is how much you mean to me.
Luz: Amity, you should save yourself not follow what happened to me, you have your own life.
Amity: Before I met you I did not have much of a life, in fact I was actually less of a puppet when the Collector turned me into an actual puppet. Listen Luz you have given me so much. Courage to confront the things I am ashamed of, the strength to get stronger in situations I never expected to overcome, the freedom to choose my own future, hope that things can get better, dreams I actually want to achieve, you have given me kindness when I did not deserve it, you have given me so much joy, and most of all you have given me so much love that I did not think was possible. If you were gone all that would go away and tell me Luz what is a person left with when all that is gone?
Amity started tearing up and Luz was wiping away her tears.
Amity: If I can truly choose my future I choose not to have one unless you are in it. What is wrong with me making it sound like your life’s purpose is to make me happy I am just as terrible as Odalia.
Luz: No you are not!!!
Amity was stunned by that.
Luz: You are not trying to control me or change me you just want to be with me and if my life’s purpose is to make you happy I am glad to be born for that. Amity just how you feel I feel the same way. At one point due to what happened on the day of unity I was thinking it was a mistake to be born, and as I told you before I did not want to go to the demon realm to keep you safe even if it made me sad, I did not believe I deserve that happiness but there was one thing that can genuinely make me happy even if I did not felt like I deserved to be happy and that was you Amity. I need you.
Amity placed her hand on Luz’s cheek.
Amity: Oh Luz.
Luz: There is more to it than that. One reason I am so attached to you besides the obvious facts you are amazing, beautiful, smart, cool, classy, and the fact we both love Azura is something I have not told you.
Amity: I am listening if you want me to.
Luz: Every positive relationship I got I had to earn. I never had somebody say hey can I be your friend or do you want to be my friend I always had to make the first step if anything good was going to happen which usually didn’t. However something amazing happened. Even though I fell in love with you and was doing my best so you would like me you told me something incredible after we started dating. You told me that you fell in love with me first, I was not trying to make you fall in love with me yet the impossible happened. You actually chose to love me, even with all my flaws some of which you actually love. I know it in my soul if you were to be gone I would never feel love again, I do not want to go back to existing in a state of nobody choosing to love me without me having to make them like me first only to fail. I do not want to be around unless you are around. It is not like I would rescue people from a burning building and stay behind, but the only reason I would not is it would make others sad. So I would stick around but not because I want to. Amity Blight my name may mean light but in my life you are my light.
Amity hugged Luz again.
Amity: I do not know why you are so attached to the girl who could not save you.
Luz: But you did save me that day twice.
Amity: What do you mean?
Luz: I will not lie when I disappeared it was one of the worst experiences of my life, but leaving King, Eda, you and the others behind that actually felt worse. But as bad as that was you prevented something even worse earlier. You prevented me from accidentally directly hurting the people I care about when you said that quote wrong. And trust me when I say that was the worse experience I ever had.
Amity: What is the second time you said I saved you?
Luz: During the fight I fought like my friends. I put on a show like Gus, I covered a lot of area in plants like Willow, and I zapped around in golden light like Hunter. But when the fight was about to end and I would free the isles from him my power was already going away so do you know what I did?
Amity shook her head to say no.
Luz: I was thinking of my awesome girlfriend how you covered you hands with your magic as I did the same with glyphs some of them were even glowing the same shade of pink as your magic. If I did not fought like you would I would have lost and the Boiling Isles would have fallen with me. The only reason my heart is still beating is because of you, and I love you with every beat of my heart. So Amity Blight thank you for saving my life that day.
Amity was stunned in silence. She hugged Luz as she cried, Luz was cradling her head against her chest.
Amity: We hugged each other a lot over the years but this is the first time I have heard your heart beating.
Luz: Does it make you happy?
Amity: Yes, I know this is weird but can I continue to listen to your heart?
Luz: Of course my heart is yours.
After embracing Amity for a while she calmed down.
Luz: If it is not too much to ask can I listen to yours?
Amity’s face got red from hearing this request.
Amity: Of course you are closer to my heart than my own bile sac.
Luz: Is that a saying on the Boiling Isles?
Amity: No, that is how I feel.
Luz smiled at her awesome girlfriend and she was now listening to Amity’s heart.
Luz: Wow I am surprised I can hear it.
Amity’s face became a brighter shade of red.
Amity: Luz I know I am grown up but you do not need to comment on them.
Luz: I was talking about your bile sac, but I can hear your heart clearly just fine.
Amity realized she just embarrassed herself. Luz looked Amity straight in the eyes.
Luz: I heard when people who are in love stare into each others eyes their heart rates would match up, I can feel my heart matching yours.
Amity: Me too.
Luz: I love you.
Amity: I love you too.
They shared a passionate kiss and an embrace before they decided to go back home holding hands.
Luz: I have a great idea.
Amity: What is it?
Luz: Well on Earth there are these watches that can monitor your heart rate so how about something like that for you so you can listen to my heart whenever you want.
Amity: I actually like that, but I do not want to seen as a weird stalker.
Luz: No, you are not and I would want one too to listen to your heart if that is ok with you?
Amity: I will not hide my heart from you, and I could make something with abomination engineering for that, but I do not want to experience your last heart beat, that is just too terrible.
Luz: Me neither how about I make something with glyphs to teleport us to each other in case of an emergency.
Amity: But what if we are both in a dangerous place.
Luz: Maybe a get out of danger teleporting glyph, oh it can be on a pocket watch, no a compass that is even better. But we need titan blood for it in the human world, but if we get it from King I would be no difference than that moldy emperor using others to prolong my life.
Amity: Listen Luz you are nothing like him and you can never be like him. You are not trying to live longer for a selfish reason, you are doing it for the ones you love. We can ask King if he says no that is fine we will accept that, and the fact that you can accept that is proof enough you can never be like that fungus.
They shared another kiss. They ended up meeting King who is with The Collector. King not only agreed to it but a thought appeared in his head and he wanted to find out if they wanted to be around forever, he is already the last of the titans and he could not handle being the last of his family. Luz agreed only if Amity wanted to and of course she wants to be with Luz forever. The Collector also agreed to help to spare King that kind of pain. Of course they would only try things that would not sacrifice anybody in the process. After a few years they succeeded by using a side effect of the tide pools that go through time amongst other things but it was not perfect and it had many surprises.
Many centuries later Luz and Amity are heading towards the feet of the Boiling Isles. They looked the same as their early twenties.
Luz: They should be here soon.
Amity: Well we got to help them.
A tall being flew down and landed near them, and he said in a booming voice ah two of my sisters. It was King he already towered over most demons but he was nowhere near his dad’s size and he grew his wings.
Luz: Hi King.
Amity: Good to see you.
The Collector arrived looking a bit older but to him it may have been a few months of aging at most, though it could be his hair cut or updated outfit making him seem a bit older.
The Collector: I can handle the falling meteor without a problem.
King: It would be better if we work together.
Luz: Are you ready sweet potato?
Amity: Of course batata(sweet potato).
They used the surprising side effects they gained from the method of immortality they discovered. Luz regained her titan powers though the glyphs were that of King’s. Luz also had this strange automatic effect in the event of danger in which glyphs would appear to shield her even if she was not in titan form. If injured a regeneration glyph combo or multiple copies of it would appear. Amity can become a being of abomination matter the size of a skyscraper covered in eyes that were glowing pink instead of being their usual gold color, some of those eyes would always keep an eye on Luz, unlike Darius’s transformation hers was an endless amount of abomination goo and she did not feel pain if injured as she will always regenerate. The four powerful beings dealt with the meteor before it could hit the isles. King’s shout blasted it apart, Luz used plant glyphs to catch all the pieces. Amity shielded the Boiling Isles with a massive wall of abomination goo, and the Collector turned most of the meteor pieces into food for the inhabitants of the Boiling Isles.
The Collector: Want to play ball with this piece? We can do it away from the isles.
King: Sounds good.
Luz: Well we stopped the disaster.
Amity: I will send the new food to the residents of the Boiling Isles.
She did so with the help of an army of abominations. These four powerful beings were now playing catch with what could have been a civilization destroying meteorite, but to them it is just four people playing.
Luz: Well we should go tell them the good news.
Amity: They probably already know.
King: Let me get ready.
King closed his eyes and something was crawling from his shoulder it looked like the golem jean-luc is but it is modeled after King. Due to his size he found a way to posses a copy of his younger self to interact with others better. While it is smaller he can still use his shout and glyph magic.
The Collector: Get on the star King I will give you a ride.
King did so as Luz and Amity decided to resume their original forms and walk together. The four of them may have discovered immortality but they did not keep the secret to themselves, although there always seem to be unexpected parts of the immortality they discovered. While illnesses and poisons can not kill them they can get ill for a while and despite being unaging their hair and fingernails grew. They also found out they can never cross the water in the space between spaces, which is fine with them since they still can with a portal. For the others immortality had some surprises. Eda is one as she did not want to orphan King. She found out she could now use her ability to come apart and back together to the extreme as she could turn to dust and reappear, a power she enjoyed using for fun. Raine is with her since they are fine with immortality as they know as long as Eda is with them they will never have a boring life not even an eternal one. Lilith is still keeping Hooty company. Vee is still around as well though when she heals the magic in the area gets drained though strangely she does not need magic from the area to heal it is kind of a defense mechanism and oddly enough it also weakens beings with no magic and it still works even on Earth. Vee still has Masha as they wanted to study magic and they were fine with learning just potions and Oracle magic since humans can do those kinds of magic. With them the unique traits they displayed are a kind of danger sense and when they heal they look scaly though this is probably due to the the fact Masha tried a potion earlier that day they became immortal not that they mind since it reminds them of Vee. Of course even with immortality not everything goes perfectly for a simple reason. Not everyone wants to be immortal. These immortal friends had to see love ones pass away who wanted more natural existences or who wanted to reunite with lost love ones. Still it was not the end as the four who discovered immortality found a way to communicate with the afterlife on the other side of the space between spaces. There is a ghost dimension after all so it was not impossible. Especially when you have a group that consists of the kindest of the Collectors, the last titan who is said to have surpassed his father by not giving life but eternal life, a cool and classy witch who studied all kinds of magic over the centuries, and one of the most creative humans ever.
As they were walking together holding hands as they are wearing the wedding rings with stones like the crystal in Azura’s staff that they used in their wedding day long ago Amity prevented Luz from tripping over a rock.
Luz: Thank you Amity.
Amity: Taking care of you is a full time job.
Luz: It is only for eternity.
Amity: And I would not have it any other way.
They kissed each other.
Luz: Later want to hear my heartbeat and after that I will listen to yours?
Amity: Always.
What a beautiful eternal love.
