Breaking Point

Chapter Text

As the police arrive, Cale is soon handcuffed peacefully as the coroners tend to his brother Kevin. Looking at him with a cold gaze Cale gets escorted out to one of the police cars. Sitting in the back staring at his once peaceful home now riddled with cops and sirens through the window the back of his throat tasting bitter from the smell of blood on his face and clothing, sending a shiver up his spine. Watching them take the body down the many steps outside of the house, seeing it draped with a white cloth feeling a frog in his throat. Handing his head in his hands he starts to sob quietly as they drive off headed to the police station for questioning.  After a quick confession and detailing Cale is sent through a speedy trial where he finds himself guilty on 1st, 3rd and 4th degree manslaughter and is sent to Oregon State Correctional Institution with imprisonment for life.

Sitting in a holding cell Cale sits on the edge of the concrete bed hanging his head in his hands waiting. Hearing the footsteps of an officer Cale looks over "Is everything alright? Can I talk to my father?" the officer stares for a moment. "I'm sorry to say this Mr. Erendriech but, your father died just a few days ago" staring with wide eyes Cale feels a frog in his throat "What.." he mutters in pure shock feeling his eyes well up with tears. After the officer leaves Cale breaks down, falling to his knees as he doubles over himself his hands in his hair as he sobs in agony, hearing it echo through his cell. He shakes realizing he's completely alone for the rest of his life, left to rot away by the fate of his own hands.

Managing to stand up with shaky legs he hunches over the small metal sink in his cell, looking up at himself in the shabby mirror that has a crack down the center. Staring as he spirals down into his mind he screams at himself as if he were mad, punching the mirror, hearing it shatter into thousands of tiny pieces into the sink. Sobbing with his head hung Cale finally reached his
