Chapter Text

Waiting for the right time. To say the right words. And when they do, everything falls apart. In just one sentence, one word, everything is ruined. And yet, they all say the same thing.

Kyle got his stuff together and walked out of the classroom, handing his test to the front. He was one of the first to finish so he got out a little earlier. He could wait for Stan if he wanted to, but he doesn't wanna seem creepy or weird just yet. Well he didn’t want to look creepy and weird at all, but something he can’t help in doing. He'll just see him at lunch later. Maybe he could just play on the computer in the library until that time.

"Kyle!" Kyle jumped a bit and turned around to see Heidi running after him. "Hey wait up!"

Heidi was his sort of situationship type friend since she was still dating Cartman and all, but she doesn't seem to want to break up with him, or leave him, or anything like that. Nope she just stays with him, since that was her "first true love" or whatever she called it. Not like Kyle even really liked her anymore anyways, but it was kind of hard to just cut her off since she is still technically his girlfriend, but not really. EhRG it's so fucking confusing and complicated.

"Hey," Kyle said, walking slower to let her catch up. "How's it going?"

"Fine, fine," She smiled, brushing her hair away from her face. "You?"

"Alright, alright." He nodded. "Hey aren't you supposed to be in the gym?"

"Yeah, but I just had to take a breather," She explained. "Wanna hang out for a bit?”

They headed outside and sat down on the bleachers. No one was really out here and the cold air felt nice.

"So," Heidi began. "What's been going on with the amazing Kyle Broflovski lately?"

"Not much, really," Kyle shrugged. "Same old same old."

"Oh come on, there's gotta be something new," She insisted, leaning closer. "How has Ike been?"

"Good, good," Kyle nodded. "He's getting a little better, but he still can't go to school."

"Well, that's too bad." She frowned. "He'll be back soon though, right?"

There is no point in lying to himself. Ike's health wouldn't possibly allow him to return, not anytime soon. Even Ike knew it. It was a miracle he could even breathe by himself. Not like Heidi needed to know all that anyways. She probably didn't even care, just another convo starter.

"Yeah, yeah, he will," Kyle nodded. "Probably in a few months or so."

"That's nice," She smiled. "I miss seeing him around."

You don't even know him, how do you miss him? You've seen him like once when you came over, and only then it was only a hi and goodbye. How is that missing him? You can't miss a stranger. But that doesn't matter now.

"He misses you too." Kyle smiled back, forcing the words out.

"Oh, I got something for him," She pulled out a small bag. "Here. It was actually going to be for Eric but then he didn't wanna em. Ike does like sweets, no?"

She handed him a small plastic bag with some colorful candies in it. He recognized them, they were those little sugary gummy things shaped like stars. He didn't like them very much, but he knows Ike will enjoy them. He's a sweet kid, well was a sweet kid. Either way Kyle's sure he'll appreciate it.

"Oh wow, thank you," Kyle thanked her. "He'll love these."

"I'm glad," She clapped her hands, her face brightening. "I was worried Ike would think they were too childish or something. Oh, and tell him to not eat them all at once. Okay?"

Her eyelashes were long and dark, and her lips were plump. Her cheeks were slightly flushed, and her hair was perfectly combed. It was obvious she had spent a lot of time picking them out, even if it was for Cartman. They were probably pretty expensive too since he never saw these candy brands anywhere before. Why would she waste money on Cartman? Better yet, why would she give this to him? Why did she even care if Ike was eating too much sugar?

Kyle looked back down at the bag, before smiling back at her.

"Thank you," He repeated, putting the candy on his back. "You really didn't have to."

"No, no, it's fine," She insisted. "You've helped me alot and it's the least I can do."

Kyle was pretty sure he hadn't helped her at all, in fact he barely saw her outside of school. When he did see her, they mostly just hung out and did homework. That was literally it. So why is she saying that? Why did she think he's helped her so much?

"I haven't really done anything," Kyle reminded her. "Just the usual, ya know?"

"I don't know why you're so modest about it," She giggled, putting her hand up to his face. "It's just that you made me feel more comfortable in being myself, and that I could trust you. So thanks."

Kyle felt his face burn a bit. Her fingers brushed against his cheek, and his heartbeat picked up. His hands started to feel clammy, and he could hear his heart pounding. Eh? Is this? Is this really true?

"I know that this isn't much and it may seem like a pity gift," She continued, removing her hand. "But I really do want you to know that I'm grateful for you and everything you've done for me."

He wasn't sure if it was because of the way she said it, or the way her hair fell over her face, or how her eyes shined in the sunlight. Or maybe it was because she was smiling, and how her lips looked. But suddenly, she didn't look like Heidi anymore.

"I just can't imagine my life without you. You're like a light, you know?" She admitted. "So please, accept this as a token of my appreciation."

Her brown hair had become a dark black and her face had changed to a paler tone. She no longer had freckles, but a light blush across her cheeks.

"I don't know why, but whenever I'm with you I just feel so calm and at ease. I can relax and be myself without having to worry about anything," She smiled, looking away from him. "That prob sounded stupid and really cheesy, but I guess that's how I feel. I like that."

His heart was racing. He couldn't stop himself from smiling. Why did he feel like this? What was going on? He didn't understand. He had no words, and the only thing he could do was stare at her. He could feel himself starting to get hot, and he had no idea what was going on. That's when it happened. Her lips pressed against his, and her hand moved down to his neck. His hands grabbed her waist and pulled her close. She smelled like flowers, and her skin was soft. His body was on fire. He could feel her tongue enter his mouth and his body shivered. His hands slid up her shirt, and his fingers traced her spine. Her hands cupped his face, and his tongue slid down her throat.

"Thank you, Kyle," She said, pulling back. "For being here for me."

He didn't say anything. He couldn't. His brain couldn't function. It couldn't think. His eyes were wide, and his breath was heavy.

"I mean it, you know?" She smiled, before getting and walking back towards the building. "I gotta get back to the gym, see ya later right?"

"Uh-uh, yeah," He nodded, his breathing heavy. "See ya."

He watched her go inside, his cheeks burning. His heart was still racing and his breathing was still uneven. Fuck. Was he? Could it be? No, no way. He only ever loved one person like this. Kyle's legs moved on his own as he ran towards the bathroom.
