Chapter Text
Hondo just walked out of the prison that Street’s mum is in and he was pissed and completely torn on what to do.
Street's mum was right if he told the kid the truth then he would be causing him so much pain but Jim needed to know that his mum used him for her own personal gain.
Hondo gets into his car and he texts Luca and tells him that he is going to be home late as he needs to deal with something.
Luca sends a text back saying that's fine and he will see him when he gets home.
Hondo texts Street asking if he is at his house and Street texts back saying yes and Hondo texts saying he will be at his house in 35 minutes.
Hondo arrives at Street’s House and he gets out the car and goes and knocks on the door and Street answers it and allows Hondo entrance.
Hondo looks around and it's a nice place and it's very tidy which surprises Hondo but the man keeps that to himself.
“So what's going on?” Street asks.
“It's about the guy you got in a fight with,” Hondo says.
“Am I getting fired?” Street asks.
“Jim sit down?” Hondo asks.
Street takes a seat in front of Hondo and he wonders what's going on and if he is going to be fired at least it's going to be done privately.
“Jim I want you to know that what I'm about to tell you I'm not doing it to hurt you or because I'm angry with you it's because I care about you and I genuinely think you have the right to know so here it goes.
The guy that you went to visit it turns out that he is your mums outside dealer for contraband and it's the only way for her to have power in the prison but when she found out that he was selling to another inmate she didn't like it so she told you some sob story and she knows that you will do anything for her so that's why she asked you to go round to his place and tell him to back off” Hondo says.
Street sits there frozen and he is waiting for the punchline because this has to be some sort of joke.
Hondo reaches out to take Street's hand like any parent would but Street gets up and goes to the kitchen and grabs a glass and heads to the sink and pours himself some water.
Hondo follows him and he can see the kid is trying to process what he has told him.
Street can't understand why Hondo would say that about his mum and he doesn't even know his mum.
“You're wrong,” Street says.
“Kid I wish I was but when I spoke to your mum she confirmed it” Hondo says.
“No you don't get to come into my house and tell lies about my mother” Street says and he is getting angry.
Hondo walks over to him and he pulls him into a hug and that's all it takes for Street to break down.
An hour later and Street has stopped crying and he feels like his whole world has just exploded.
Hondo lifts Street up from the ground and he takes him to the sofa and they both sit down and Hondo just pulls Street closer and lets the kid feel the love he is supposed to feel when a parent hugs them.
Street clings to Hondo and his boss doesn't say anything; all he does is just pulls the kid closer.
A few hours later and Street has officially stopped crying and he pulls apart from Hondo and he is blushing but Hondo won't let the boy be embarrassed.
“Jim, don't ever feel embarrassed for letting your emotions out ok and if you ever need to speak to me then I'm here for you” Hondo says.
“Thanks Hondo,” Street says.
“Why don't you go and grab an overnight bag and come back to mine and Luca’s?” Hondo asks.
“I'm fine honestly,” Street says.
“Jim you're not fine and I don't want to make it an order so please go and grab a few things” Hondo says.
Street knows that he has lost the argument so he does as Hondo says and he heads to his bedroom and packs a bag and he comes out of his bedroom and Hondo is waiting for him.
Hondo hugs Street and tells him he is going to be ok, maybe not today but he will be.
After locking the door and getting into Hondo’s car the two drove off and headed off to Hondo and Luca’s house.
15 minutes later both Hondo and Street arrive at Hondo’s house and they get out and head up the driveway and Hondo opens the door.
“Babe I'm home” Hondo calls out.
Luca comes out from the kitchen and he is surprised that Street is with his boyfriend and what surprises him more is the kid has a bag with him.
“I take it you're staying here tonight?” Luca asks.
“Yeah Jim's staying for a few nights,” Hondo says.
“Ok I'll show you the guest bedroom” Luca says.
Street follows Luca up the stairs and it's the second on the right they go to and when Luca opens it Street walks in and it's a very nice room and Street puts his bag down and he turns around and thanks Luca.
Luca leaves Street to get settled in and he goes back downstairs and heads to the kitchen and he sees Hondo is on the phone so he waits until his boyfriend is done with his call.
A few minutes later Hondo puts the phone down and he goes over to Luca and sits next to him.
“So you're going to tell me why Street’s staying here?” Luca asks.
“Something went down with his mum and he is starting to see what she is really like and he is going to need our support” Hondo says.
“Ok and do I get to know what went down with his mum?” Luca asks.
“It's not my story to tell,” Hondo says.
“Ok” Luca says.
Street comes downstairs and he offers to help out with some food and Luca tells him to go and sit on the sofa and he does while Hondo comes over with some tea and he says that this is better then drowning in alcohol.
There is a knock at the door and Hondo goes and answers it and it's the food Hondo ordered while he was on the phone.
Once the door is closed Hondo goes to the kitchen he plates up the food and he brings the food into the living room and he sees that Street has fallen asleep and Luca is putting a blanket over him.
Both Hondo and Luca go into the kitchen and Hondo puts Jim's food on a separate plate and puts it in the microwave.
Hondo and Luca eat their food and after finishing it the wash up and once Hondo has checked on Street and gives him a kiss on the top of the head and he goes to bed himself and he promises he will look out for Jim and be the dad he needs in his life.
