Summary
It started with sprouts.
Tiny, fragile, strands of green sticking out of cats' backs. First the strays, then the outdoors pets. Nobody knew how and why.
Then it was dogs. The sprouts were bigger and thicker and they cried if their owners tried to cut them
Nobody knew. Botanists recognized them as mutations of roadside vegetation, wildflowers and exotic plants.Cats began to get crazy, attacking whoever tried to help them. Dogs too. More people got hurt and more people died.
Tiny, fragile, strands of green sprouted from the survivors' bites.
Then the people bursted. From thinking beings to mindless monsters in a matter of weeks. Half of the world fell.The cats got over it. The dogs got over it. The half remained said, so will we.
They didn't.
