Maegor Royce was born in the cold and craggy halls of Runestone, a boy who inherited his mother’s strength and his father’s blood. From a young age, he felt the weight of his name, though it was never spoken in kindness. His mother, Lady Rhea Royce, was proud, fierce, and unyielding—a true child of the Vale. She raised him alone, for his father, Prince Daemon Targaryen, had left them both behind.
The people of Runestone whispered behind closed doors of the boy’s Targaryen eyes, sharp and violet like dragonfire, but it was his mother’s features that dominated his face. His silver hair had darkened to a deep chestnut, and his strong, sharp features were unmistakably Royce. This was perhaps why Daemon never visited. The Rogue Prince hated his Lady wife, and Maegor was a reminder of a union forged in scorn rather than love.
