Summary
Eddie found himself in a modest home that stretched his finances to the limit, but it was a necessary step for him and his son. He applied to the 118, a renowned firefighting station known for its excellence. Although Eddie was confident in his qualifications, a lingering doubt clouded his optimism. The firefighting community was one he admired deeply, and the thought of joining such a respected team filled him with both excitement and trepidation.

Eddie is trans and estranged from most of his family. He builds a new life in LA with his son and finds purpose at the 118. As more of the team learns the truth, guilt eats at him—especially knowing Buck has feelings for him, and Eddie still hasn’t told him.
When Buck finally learns the truth, it doesn’t change how he sees Eddie—in fact, it only deepens his admiration and love. Their relationship begins with quiet certainty, a sense of finally finding home in each other. Buck steps in seamlessly with Christopher, and for a time, the three of them carve out a life filled with hope. But as the dust settles, cracks begin to form.
