"Danny's in his last year of high school, only a month away from graduating. No more overdue assignments or late-night cram sessions. No more crowded hallways and after-school detentions. No more stress.He's so close he can almost taste it.
But then Dani shows up, injured and whimpering and collapsing into his lap.
He may or may not have scared the daylights out of a few lower years and almost body-slammed Dale trying to get Dani out the door and to the nearest location with first aid supplies. So what if he spent almost an hour holed up with Dani in the nurse's office patching her up while Mr Lancer and the paramedics he called tried to coax him into unlocking the door. So what if his Obsession slipped up after not seeing Dani for more than six months, only to have her show up looking ready to destabilise and melt into a puddle of goo.

I turn around, and slam my forehead into the deck as I fall to my knees. “Please, god, I know the last time we talked I told you to suck an egg but what the actual fuck. What did I do? Is this because of the gay thing? I’ll stop I swear I’ll knock it off just please—”
“What are you talking about? Why were you swimming all the way out here? What’s with your weird clothes?” The Boy, whom I refuse to name on principle, starts rapid fire shooting out questions while wiggling his way across the tiny boat to me.
“This is actually happening. Oh my god this is real, what the shit…” I turn around from my position on the floor to see The Boy crouched inches from my face. I give an undignified yelp and scramble as far back as I can without tipping over the edge.
He gives me that bright grin and announces “I’m Monkey D. Luffy! I’m gonna be King of the Pirates!” Then he cocks his head to the side. “Who’re you?”

Midoriya Izuku went missing for a week and turned up in a back alleyway with skills he's never even heard of and no memory of how he came by them. He resigns himself to never learning the truth of what happened to him, but he shouldn't waste this chance should he? He could become a hero with reflexes like these.

They followed all the way to Uncle Vernon's Mercedes. Some of them gave Harry hugs while other whispered reassurances that they'd see each other again soon. That the weeks would fly by and that they would come to get him before he knew it. But Harry knew very well that he was doomed. He knew that this would be the last he ever saw of any of them.

Except there's a strange boy from the room next door who likes to steal his doormat, leave stupid notes on his front door, and eat takeout on his couch uninvited. And is also possibly involved in criminal activity—what’s a rich kid doing alone in Crime Alley running from the drug ring’s henchmen, and how does he have personal contact with half of the Gotham rogues?
It’s all very annoying. Jason doesn’t care about the kid at all, nope, not one bit.
