After Nathan died, his family ended up at The Under Vale yeah, “the haunted hotel” he used to run.
A few months later and everyone’s trying to settle in.
Katherine’s holding the family together the best she can. School’s back in session.Abaddon’s actually made a friend — Esther.
And Ben… well, he’s dating a ghost.
For once, things almost feel normal.
But Nathan can feel it — something’s changing. And when it does, he won’t be here to see it.Years will pass. The kids will grow up.
Katherine will gray and slow.
But Abaddon won’t.One night, he finds the Relict again — the same one from before. He turns it over in his hands, the glow catching in his eyes.
Maybe, he thinks, this wasn’t just a blip in time. Maybe he could go back.

One day while wandering the woods, Nathan finds the ghost of a priest with a hole in his stomach. He takes the priest back to the hotel, unaware it’s the same priest whose son Abaddon is possessing. Nathan decides to give the priest one month to do what he needs to for closure, then he’ll be kicked out of the hotel. An easy solution that doesn’t force Nathan to take sides. Except for one problem.
Nathan’s fallen in love.

Abaddon’s eyes glisten. “You don’t understand,” he pleads, his voice small and shaking. “Please—I’ll behave! I’m sorry! I’ll be—I’ll be good!”
Katherine’s hand trembles as she slips the crucifix over his head, pushing down the guilt she feels. “It’ll only be for a few hours,” she says quietly. “I really didn’t want it to be this way.”
The moment the beads touch his skin, Abaddon cries out to her , a sound that doesn’t belong to a child at all. Katherine forces herself to turn away, heart hammering as she steps out of the attic. She has to remind herself that that isn’t a child, but a spawn of hell in a child’s body.
The door slams shut behind her.

Katherine accidentally curses Abaddon with a crucifix, causing him to grow extremely sick. She’s left with no choice but to do everything she can to save him before it’s too late

Nathan accidentally becomes the owner of the Undervale through a card game not long after he escapes his twelfth cult and feels trapped, miserable, lonely and unsure what to do with his life or how to really face his family. He was warned about the demon who lived on the property but can't stop himself from wanting to get closer to the boy.

First, I am just going to say, this is not a shot at anyone's religion in any way. If the religious references make you uncomfortable, you don't have to read this.
Since the second season is still however long away, I'm working out my obsession with a fic. This takes place after the first season. Abaddon goes to find bones, and ends up running back to the hotel with the ghost of a rather angry priest right on his trail. I am currently obsessed with the Nathan and the priest ship, so yeah, they gonna be gay, and they gonna crack...eventually. We gotta do some sad shit first.

It was a day much like any other, if not better than usual. He’d woken to a bird upon his windowsill, peacefully preening, and it even seemed to chirp in response to his morning prayer. His shoes buckled easily, and he didn’t stumble on the raised floorboard in the hall. Breakfast went well, too, as father even patted his shoulder ever so briefly, even if he scrubbed it against his pant leg immediately after. Any affection was rare from his father, so he must have been in a very generous mood indeed!

The Undervale hotel was devoid of any life except one. Nathan took the role as the hotel's owner very seriously.
The night was long and there had been no guests for twenty nights and twenty days. The cold breeze of winter warranted a lit fireplace and that made the lobby look that much more welcoming yet still no luck.
With resignation, he got up and get started on closing the hotel for the night.
