Paris, 1890: In the soot covered streets of the French Empire, Christine Daaé is a factory girl with nothing left to lose, sold to a brothel, orphaned, desperate to be rid of the burden that is her life. In the quiet shadows of the Paris catacombs, Erik is leading a rebellion that is slowly falling apart with nothing to give them hope, clinging to recruits from brothels and work houses, starved, desperate to destroy the people that keep them on their knees. When fate brings the two of them together, when Christine Daaé is handed nothing but a rifle and a fever dream, when Erik takes on the scrawny brothel girl as his protégée, the path of their stories might change, but only if they are brave enough to face their tangled emotions first.
This is basically a clashing of my two special interest, Phantom of the Opera and communism. So let's get in losers, we are seizing the means of production, opera-style!

Summary
At Masquerade, patrons are free to explore their deepest, most depraved sexual desires. The only real rules are these: (1) consent is a must; (2) safewords are required; and (3) complete and utter anonymity.
It starts with a game. Two people, exploring their taboo fantasies under the guise of anonymity. A way to get it out of their systems, so to speak. But it only makes them want more, and eventually, it becomes less of a game. The only question is, how far will they end up going?
This story has hidden cameras, sexy videos, a fake fiancé, a secret sex club with a James Bond-esque entrance and its very own app, a couple of uppity French aristocrats, a discussion of the horrors that are camping and getting back to nature, and way too many references to cars considering it’s set mostly in Manhattan. References to Y2K fashion and slang abound. You have been warned!
Also? A serial killer who just happens to be Erik’s father may or may not be getting out of the psychiatric institution where he’s been for the last twenty years. So Erik has a lot going on, and he’s not going to be dealing with any of it in a particularly healthy manner.

Summary
More than a century after his death, Erik still roams the halls of Opera Garnier, now as an actual ghost. That is until a mysterious voice pulls him out of limbo. Once again a young man in flesh and blood, he is intent on finding Christine and winning her heart but it seems like it might be easier said than done as the modern world proves to be full of unexpected obstacles. Thankfully, he's not alone in his endeavor. Helping him there is a familiar-looking guard and a rather resourceful singer who turns out to be the great-great-granddaughter of someone he used to know.
This is a story of love and friendship, and of how one little mistake can determine the course of your entire life, including life after death.

In 1883, the winter season at the Palais Garnier, Paris's premier opera house, is thrown into disarray by bumbling new managers. Amidst the power struggle that begins, stories rage of a Ghost, angered by the recent changes, who haunts the opera, terrorizing anyone who dares cross him.
With her late and unremarkable entrance to the opera house, Christine Daae knows nothing of the Ghost. However, she tells stories of her own, and her skills quickly enrapture the young girls of the corps de ballet. Unknown to them, someone else begins listening in as Christine weaves magical tales while the rest of the opera sleeps. One night, to vanquish the wide-eyed fear of the little ballerinas, Christine paints the Opera Ghost in a new light, leading to unlikely friendships and a whirling romance that have consequences for everyone at the Palais Garnier.
