Enjin was Riyo's rock. He always had been. Never hurt. Never out of commission. He was always fine. She could always rely on him to be in her corner. To always be there when the fight was over, there to comfort and carry her to the infirmary when she got too hurt.
So much so that she forgot that rocks erode too.
Rudo had allowed himself to get comfortable. Rudo allowed himself to trust Enjin, to rely on him. To be happy, to move past the pain that was the tragedy, rage and loss of Regto. That comfort clouded his vision. Made his guard go down.
Had him forget that everyone dies.
