The Kamados was well liked by those who knew them, and they are well respected in their community. On one fateful day, Kamado Tanjiro, the eldest son of the Kamado Clan went out to sell more charcoal to support his family after his father, Kamado Tanjuro, the former head of the family had passed away. Unfortunately, when he returned, he was greeted to a horrifying sight. His entire family had been horribly killed and mutilated. Tanjiro stayed there on his knees, shaking with tears streaming down his face. Unbeknownst to him, someone else was there, watching the unfortunate boy mourn his loved ones. They had a solemn look on their face, as if they blame themselves for the deaths of the Kamados. They feel that they have failed too many times, so this time, the Legendary Slayer will not fail. He will train the boy to learn of his technique and mastery of the blade, and Tanjiro will have his vengeance on the one who has done this horrible sin to his family. For he shall be the successor of the great, Tsugikuni Yoriichi, the man who even the Demon King fears.

Summary

In the canon timeline, these demons never had any chance of changing, developing, experiencing the world.
But when the infinity castle resisted Nakime’s control, the hashira didn’t fall and instead Muzan died without the Upper Moons being defeated. In his hatred of the demon slayer corps, Muzan frees all demons from his control so that they defeat the demon slayer corps.
However, freed from Muzan’s control, the five demons walk different paths, changing their worldview, finding new friends and deciding who they want to be.
