Fennorian cursed himself as he fumbled out of the bed, tripping on blankets wrapped around his legs and clinging to his ankles. He told himself he was being ridiculous, even as he yanked his boots on and jerked the door open into the empty hallway of Valente Manor. He told himself Annette didn’t need coddling, especially not from him of all people, while tiptoeing down the hallway and slipping out the front door. Ursilia, fast asleep in her own room, would have to be fine without him for a couple of hours.

Fennorian has a nightmare. He can't stop himself from leaving Valente Vineyards in the middle of the night to make sure Annette is fine... Even if she is halfway across the Weald.

“My hero!” Vestige cheered.
While Fennorian looked for his lock picks, he tried not to over think her words. Her hero? She was the one constantly saving him. It felt good though, for her to say it to him.
Or Fennorian thinks Vestige's lipstick is a gorgeous shade of red and they got locked in a room together.

This is the story of Alyssa Talmari, the Altmer daughter of a failed Mages Guild member and a miner. Her simple family life took her from Marbruk to the Falinesti Winter Site where her parents' mining enterprise flourishes as a supplier for King Camoran Aeradan's armory. They shrunk in on themself and focused on a loose thread on their blanket, tugging at it gently. “I don’t know. You said to save it for a real emergency.” They sighed. “No emergency felt real enough, I guess.” When he said nothing, they attempted to sit up. “I’m sure it’s more than expired now. I’ve known that it was for a long time though.” I couldn’t bear to throw it away, they don’t say.
“You kept it all this time?” He asked.
Or the Vestige gets injured and the closest safe space is their house.

"I'll never understand your obsession with sheep, Verandis." Rada Al-Saran spoke in an irritated tone. "There are hunters and prey. We are hunters. Your sympathy for prey borders on the insane."
It was always there, wasn't it? The lingering guilt. The disgust, the wretched feeling of what he was before. Oh, Verandis. Beneath his comely visage and his kind heart was a past so dark he wished to bury it entirely. Some days he would yearn to crumble his castle to dust, or at least the southwestern tower, for the memories that lingered in it were not always pleasant.
And when Fennorian asked him, how did an Altmer become a nobleman in High Rock? He was not eager to answer it, if he would even tell him the whole truth. No one knew, and no one shall ever know. No one knew what kind of atrocities he committed in another life, another time. The time when his clan ruled over High Rock.
But Fennorian was ever the curious. Willful. And one day he stumbled upon the darkest secret of the mer he admired and loved more than his own birth father.
Would that change who Verandis Ravenwatch was in his eyes?
