The Sun won’t relent until it scalds you completely raw, and the vultures follow you no matter where you go, as if you carry death itself on your paws. Ferren the maned wolf thought that he’d learned these lessons already, but every time the world beats him down again, it appears that he needs a reminder. And still, no matter where he runs, he always seems to end up covered in blood. Sometimes it’s his own, sometimes it belongs to others - no matter whose it is, he can’t escape it. He’s trying to live - trying to understand people, trying to make his way through the world, trying to avoid peril - but the desert isn’t always so compliant.
Essentially this is the story of one of my OC's, Ferren the maned wolf. He's doing his best.
