Johnny stands at his open wardrobe, arms folded across his chest, and scowls at his clothes. His duffle bag is open on the bed behind him, half packed for his weekend leave with Simon.
The hangers rattle as he shoves them aside. A pair of jeans, faded and worn, drops to the floor, and he picks them up, regarding them for a moment before he tosses them back in the wardrobe in disgust. Would it have killed him to get some nice clothes? A couple of soft jumpers, maybe a blue one that would bring out his eyes? Or maybe a button-down shirt? No, too fancy. What does he think this is, a date?
Johnny laughs nervously, the sound bordering on hysterical.

Despite his reputation as a hotheaded demolition’s expert, Soap actually considered himself a pretty laid back guy–so how he’d managed to end up in a squeaky barracks bed, pounding into his superior officer, was beyond him.
It wasn’t a conscious decision, but six months ago, after Chicago, when Ghost had cornered him against a hotel mattress and rode him like his life depended on it–Soap never had a second thought. Anyone would be foolish to push away a man as gorgeous as Ghost, and Soap never considered himself foolish.

“Gonna get it warm in here first, then we’ll have a look at ya,” he says over his shoulder.
Soap just shivers on the cot and says nothing.
While he gets the fire going, Ghost takes stock of their supplies. He’s got almost a full IFAK between the two of them, cold water from the hand pump that he can warm, some dubious looking rags, and a half-gallon of what looks like homemade vodka.
Not ideal.
He glances over at the cot. Soap’s eyes have drifted shut.

Summary
After a mission goes wrong the team is left with some mild injuries. Soap, in an effort to avoid having to go on leave, hides his own injury. Price, Gaz and Ghost end up going on leave so that they can rest and heal, reluctantly leaving Soap behind at the base since he had no reason to leave. Things for Soap go downhill from there and the rest of the team is not happy about it.

John had been pacing back and forth in his small room for the better part of an hour. There wasn’t anything in particular bothering him, he just couldn’t settle down after the 141s last mission. He had flown through his paper work after they got back from the assignment. It was a relatively simple extraction mission, everything had gone according to plan. The Iranian nuclear scientist had been rescued from her captors and the threat had been eliminated without so much as a step outside of the plan. So for the life of him Soap could not figure out why he couldn’t get his mind and body to settle down.

The 141 have a long history together, companions, friends, lovers... only not everyone feels as though they belong. Soap has always felt like a piece of him was missing since he woke up from a nearly three-hundred-year sleeping curse, with most of his memories before 1868 simply gone. Now since Graves' betrayal and supposed death, Soap feels even more empty with a strange call that yearns for him to return to a home that no longer exists. He loves his boys, price, Ghost, and Gaz, yet something isn't right. As though a special person is supposed to be there next to him. In order to secure his future, Soap must first unearth his past. Doing so, however, may just unlock more chaos into their lives. Can secrets long forgotten save the 141, or will they be what finally puts the nail in their coffin permanently?

Summary

Nobody really knew when Sergeant MacTavish and Lieutenant Riley became Johnny and Si, when the two became so comfortable around each other. It was quite hard to imagine, with “The Ghost” being known for his secrecy, and the way he always kept anyone at arms length. But somehow, Soap managed to make himself a place in his locked up heart.
