Summary
Instead of rotting in a prison stasis tank for eternity after surviving the bombing of Arasaka, Johnny Silverhand is released. Things around Night City haven't changed much, so he's getting the band back together. But Johnny has to figure out where he fits into everything 50 years later and not much wiser, including with Kerry's new choom, a weird, uptight corpo-turned-merc chick named V.
[ I'm working on the next chapter while catching up on Kinktober, stay tuned! ]

Summary
Johnny wasn't ready to be thrown back into the world, to be able to touch and interact with it again, albeit through a other person's body. That, though, he found easy enough to adjust to.
V, the person who's body he was helplessly trapped inside of, was a different matter entirely. They were a whole mountain of things he wasn't prepared to deal with. Three big things glared out immediately about the punk merc: One, no gender. Weird for Johnny to have to be, but whatever. Two, V had a nasty streak that dwarfed Johnny's. MaxTac levels of fucked-in-the-head.
Three, and possibly the thing that disturbed Johnny the most, even if he was a little in awe? V was an honest-to-god, real-life, at-large fucking serial killer. Sure, it was corpos and lowlifes with bounties that could be considered crimes against humanity, but it was the fact that it came with a modus operandi and a little too much glee from the little murderer.
Silverhand left Night City a burning, nuclear mess. Now his ghost has been shoved into one.

But when V had reached out from the Blackwall, he finally saw a glimpse of self-saviour. Though it doesn't help when Kerry's still loving the kid like the best thing on Earth.

Summary
“The Garden of Eden was not in Asia but on a now sunken continent in the Pacific Ocean. The biblical story of creation— the epic of the seven days and seven nights— came first not from the peoples of the Nile or the Euphrates Valley but from this now submerged continent, Mu— the Motherland of Man.”
- James Churchward, 1926
