Summary
Night City is a ruthless, unforgiving place. You have a hardwired metal soul, or you're crushed under the grinding wheel of fate. Alain Vincent Roth, better known as 'V' on the streets, is learning the hard way that not all is as it seems in the city where cyberware reigns supreme. His best choom is dead. He's stuck with a cutting-edge piece of tech wedged in his head. Half the city wants him dead, and the other half fears him. Add to that the specter of a long dead rockstar labeled a terrorist prancing around making demands. It's a volatile mix that might just get him killed before he can reach the top. After all, he's racing the clock. Finding a way to save his own life has become his top priority. There's just one catch: falling in love wasn't part of the plan. He certainly didn't expect to be blindsided by the God of Rock, but Kerry Eurodyne is something special. Neither he nor the rocker chewing through his brain can turn away from the singer.

Post The Tower Ending: 2080
It’s been three years since Johnny was ripped outta V’s head and his body was stripped of his heavy chrome. Another year since V woke from the surgery induced coma.He’s still alive—somehow. But his body is different, always hurting, nothing like the sleek-high powered frame that once tore through Night City.
Everyone he knew has moved on.
Most of his friends drifted, the fixers stopped calling, even Kerry, who answered V’s one phone call with vague promises of help—disappeared back into his tour and his fame.
Now, V wakes up each day in a too-quiet apartment and goes to work at the Afterlife as a bartender, learning how to live as a normal person.
Another face in the crowd.
And as for how Kerry has been all these years? Well, he makes music, he sells out stadiums and copes however he can. With whoever he can.
Ultimately it’s a poorly timed message and fate that decides it isn’t done with them yet, and throws them back together with all the subtlety of a car crash. Will they take this second chance?
