Summary
When Death-Cast calls Josh Dun to inform him that he’s going to die today, he doesn't believe it. He’s only twenty-three and just moved to Columbus to pursue his dream of drumming in one of his favorite bands. He’s fit, he’s healthy, and he's supposed to have his entire life ahead of him.
After Death-Cast calls Tyler Joseph, however, he can’t help but breathe a sigh of relief. He’s spent his entire life living on borrowed time, having been born with a severe, fatal heart condition. Most of his young adulthood has been spent in hospital rooms, churches, and his bedroom under the near-constant supervision of a hospice nurse. Getting this phone call is the motivation he needs to break out of the small quarters he’s been forced into.
When Tyler and Josh connect on an app called Last Friends, they set out to live an entire life in a single day, and forge a connection that goes far beyond friendship in the process.

This was a red-haired young man, who seemed to be of a similar age to Phainon. The young man's golden eyes settled on his. Through them, one could observe an immense weariness, also visible in the dark circles beneath his eyes.
His features weren't entirely visible, as his hair and the hood he wore covered much of his face.
Phainon would swear he had seen that face somewhere before, but he pushed that thought aside, as the well-being of that person was more important.
"Are you okay? It's cold, you'd better get somewhere warm. My car is nearby, let me get you some dry clothes and a warm environment before you get hypothermia."
The young man looked at him with some confusion.
"Did you pull me out of the water?" he asked slowly, with a thin thread of a voice.
"Yes, yes, but this isn't the time for that. Follow me before you freeze to death."
And with a tug, Phainon lifted the stranger, who seemed surprised by this, as his eyes widened and stared fixedly at him.

Will steps into the woods. Birds chirp around him, and squirrels run up the trees. It's been six months since Vecna was finally defeated, and now everyone is finally beginning to settle. Everyone except for Will. He can't seem to get out of fight or flight mode, and everything's been wrong. His body feels off, heavy and achy, while his concentration is shot. No one noticed when he stopped showing up to things, stopped answering his radio. El will chatter every night about what her and Mike were up to that day.
And it seems to take all of Dustin's energy to keep moving, and to show up himself. Lucas is with Max, and no one noticed when Will started to fade into the background. He knew if he stopped trying, this is what would happen. He knew as soon as he had to beg for their attention. It's ok though, he's always known his place. And now it's fine for him to step back, and let them all breathe without him. Every morning he takes another walk like this one, trying to chase away the ache in his joints that make it hard to move. Part of him knows that he should say something, that this isn't normal pain.
That something is seriously wrong, but he can't bring himself to.
