They stepped into the cooler, brighter lights of the mall hallway. The smell of popcorn from the theater mixed with the general hum of the mall: distant music, shoes on tile, and the occasional announcement over the PA. Everyone was still talking animatedly about their favorite parts of the movie when Libby felt a sudden, sharp impact against her nose.
The group froze, eyes widening, as Libby staggered back slightly. One of the four boys from before—now with dry pants but still looking smug—stood there, fist raised, a cruel smirk plastered across his face.

Summary
After arriving back in Hawkins, Will and his family has been staying at the Wheeler's house. And frankly- he's tired of it. He can't even escape it because of a "buddy system" Hopper has put in place.
After going to the donation center- Will runs into Dustin, who offered Will a ride to the hospital with him and Steve, finally escaping everyone else.
It soon becomes a regular thing, and Will and Steve find out how much they need each other.

Billy’s boredom has been an issue ever since he moved to Hawkins. Nothing seemed sufficient anymore. He would consider Hawkins the most boring town in the world, if only the weird and mysterious event of Will Byers disappearance never happened.
Maybe unearthing the mysteries around his vanishing could be his ticket to cure his boredom. But for that, he would have to grow closer to the kid, and gain his trust. -

Then, in the most obvious way possible, his eyes rake over Will’s figure, lingering on the way his shirt hugs his stomach, and over the muscles in Will’s arms.
And then, to Mike’s absolute mortification, his younger-self flushes, cheeks growing impossibly red and eyes darting to the floor. Not in an obvious manner either, because Will immediately levels Mike with a questioning stare and a teasing smile which makes him want to crawl into a hole and die.

Will Byers is starting his sophomore year with his friends at Hawkins High School. It's going to be the Best Year Ever, full of DnD and art and Normal High School Things. It has to be because that's the promise he made to get his brother out the door and living his own life in college instead of stuck living Will's life with him.
Jonathan Byers is starting his freshman year at Emerson College with the love of his life. The dining hall makes all the meals, everyone is happy to share their weed, he has no responsibilities besides good grades.
Everything is great. Everything is amazing. Everything is perfect. It's supposed to be perfect. Why does it still not feel perfect?
Or, Will and Jonathan struggle in the peaceful aftermath, but no one - especially each other - is allowed to know that.

Will steps into the woods. Birds chirp around him, and squirrels run up the trees. It's been six months since Vecna was finally defeated, and now everyone is finally beginning to settle. Everyone except for Will. He can't seem to get out of fight or flight mode, and everything's been wrong. His body feels off, heavy and achy, while his concentration is shot. No one noticed when he stopped showing up to things, stopped answering his radio. El will chatter every night about what her and Mike were up to that day.
And it seems to take all of Dustin's energy to keep moving, and to show up himself. Lucas is with Max, and no one noticed when Will started to fade into the background. He knew if he stopped trying, this is what would happen. He knew as soon as he had to beg for their attention. It's ok though, he's always known his place. And now it's fine for him to step back, and let them all breathe without him. Every morning he takes another walk like this one, trying to chase away the ache in his joints that make it hard to move. Part of him knows that he should say something, that this isn't normal pain.
That something is seriously wrong, but he can't bring himself to.
