Summary
When her lady-aunt judges her to be a good influence on her tempestuous daughter, Jorelle Lannister finds herself entrapped in the gilded maws and machinations of her sun-haired kinsmen.
Thus, a lamb in lionskin finds unexpected solace in a dysfunctional pride.
( alternatively: a girl lives on in westeros as a character that she's ninety percent sure doesn't exist. )

Summary
In a kinder world, Tywin Lannister would be wedding his lucky bride in full view of the glittering and hushed court, afforded every honor due to the favor he has gained from the Targaryens at such a young age.
Well, this is not a kinder world, and in this world, Lann the Clever’s golden threads unspooled a different way, leading down a winding crevice, into the dark. Into Ellyn Reyne’s womb, where, most treacherously, a seed of Tion Lannister’s took root before he died in battle at the Wendwater, during the latest Blackfyre Rebellion, a youth of eighteen. But eighteen is old enough to breed, and so he did.
The Lannisters might have been well rid of Ellyn, the grasping bitch, but she had the audacity to get with child, and one can assume that while dear Jeyne prayed her hardest for her goodsister to miscarry the babe, and perhaps contemplated slipping her some moon tea, Ellyn’s belly grew with every month following Tion’s death. Six months later, she gave birth to a daughter, who, once she’d recovered from the disappointment of a girl, she promptly named Rohanne.

Summary
When Jon is hired on as the new undergardener at Winterfell, Old Willem’s rules are simple:
“The godswood takes care of itself. The rest of the estate does not.
If a task can be done by sundown, I expect it to be done by sundown. If not, go eat your supper and finish it the next day.
Don’t neglect the lemon trees in the Glass Garden. They need constant care to thrive up here.
Leave Lady Catelyn’s roses that grow there be. She prefers to tend them herself.
Leave Lady Catelyn’s daughters be as well.”
Keeping to four out of five isn’t so bad, he reckons.

Summary
“Lord Tywin Lannister is our liege lord,” Father said, after a long list of things that Melara ought to remember. “We serve our liege lord and his family to the best of our abilities, and they govern and protect us. Sometimes, even reward us. Take care that you never give them cause to punish us."
