Summary
Standing with his back to the door is a behemoth of a man, grunting and snorting like a wild boar in a trap- and in the man’s grasp, pinned against the wall by the paws around his neck, is John Carter. Dead-eyed and slack as he dangles there like a marionette.
Mark's brain short circuits. He stumbles back. Yells for security, his own voice strangled, yet doesn't wait for the reinforcements to come, because the boy’s lips are tinged blue, and he isn't fighting like he should be.
OR
Carter gets strangled by a patient. Set in S1.

Summary
"John!" Michael caught his wrist, holding him still. John gave a tug but his brother only held on tighter. "This isn't about Pope, right?" He asked seriously.
"Fuck off, Michael," John managed to snatch it back, walls flying up instantly in defense. He did not want to talk about this, he'd been avoiding it and Pittsburgh for months.
"Come on," Michael laughed, exacerbated. "It was one week fucking months ago--did it really mean that much?"
"That week was the fucking happiest I have been in a long time, so yes Michael, it did really mean that much. Now if that's all, I'm fucking tired. Crash on the couch, bathrooms just off the kitchen."
"John-"
He pettily slammed the door shut, cutting Michael off as a final fuck you.

“Alright.” Mark breathes, stepping out of the stall. “I’m going to take you to your apartment so you can grab your things. And then I want you to stay with me.”
His head snaps up, eyes widening. “S-stay with you?”
“You’re roommates with Gant, right?”
Carter nods, walking over to the sink and splashing his face with water. “I was.”
“Then I don’t want you to be alone tonight.”

the momentum threw him partially over the bed rail and towards some medical instruments, making it all clatter to the floor loudly—but to be honest? , he couldn’t give less fucks about the medical equipment right now—before the nurses and security swarmed to re-secure the restraints.
“Carter!” he heard Dr. Benton bark out as he ate a fistful of fists onto his ribs (hah!).

Carter is probably having what's usually described in medical text books as a mental breakdown and also gets fisted (pun!) Peter benton has no idea wtf Carter is thinking

Peter would brush him off and kick him out of the operating room, then send him to do his scut work and really think about his commitment to this program.
But Carter never shows.

Summary
Carter didn’t mean to.
God, he didn’t fucking mean to.
He sat hunched on the floor of the dirty bathroom, knees up to his chest, arms wrapped around his middle like he could squeeze the truth out of him, like maybe he could wring the life back out through his pores. The pregnancy test lay on the cracked tile like a taunt. Pink. Positive. Final.
The overhead bulb buzzed like a dying insect. Flickered every few seconds like God was blinking at him—watching. Judging.

Summary
The air conditioning at the Pittsburgh International Airport was doing its best to fight off the last clinging dregs of summer heat, sterile in a way that seemed to mock John; reminding him of the ER even from 462 miles away. Even on vacation he couldn’t escape the narrow halls and low-lit lighting of work. Dr. Green was right; John really did need to find a life outside of the hospital, and he was—or at least he was trying, hence the trip to Pittsburgh. It had been a conscious decision to mend his relationship with his brother after leaving his parent’s house, something that said parents would never have allowed. He’d called Michael when he got into Med School a few years ago, found his number after only a little bit of online stalking, and rang him out of the blue. Michael, understandably, had been a little confused.
-
Michael and John reconnect as adults, and, after a few years of finally being close brothers, Michael asks John to be the best man at his and Jack's wedding. What John didn't know was that Jack had asked the same thing of his distant twin, and now John's curiosity might threaten to ruin the family he somehow managed to build.

Summary
Peter went a whole month without seeing John Carter, the severely accident prone 23-year-old who liked to talk to anyone he could. When Peter removed his sutures a month ago, the guy chatted away to him, the nurses, and the patient on the bed next to him. He constantly had something to say, and it drove Peter crazy. But a month had passed, and Peter almost forgot about his head lac (and black eye) patient until Lydia was handing him a chart.
"Chatty kid is back with a hand laceration in need of sutures." Peter opened the chart to see 'John Carter' and he sighed. He thought about handing the case off to Brown (who had not improved in the last month) but decided against it. Peter needed to practice his sutures anyway.
