The scent was all.
The scent was all, and he’d lost it.
He staggered through the burning woods, desperate for shelter, for water, for air, along the only path the fire permitted him, a rock ledge that overlooked the river, stained brown from all the blood, all the carnage of the battle that still raged in the valley below. A fog of black, sooty smoke loomed in between the trees, but thinned out on the ledge. He cradled his mangled arm as he lurched forward, forward on a pair of swollen ankles, shackle-scarred legs, desperate for escape from he knew not what.
He only knew it was evil—pure, invincible evil—and if he shifted, they would have him. His wolf was fierce but fair-minded, a creature of instinct and hunger—and instinct, he had discovered, could be manipulated, wielded, owned.
The man with no name would die before he would be owned again.
In which Bucky is a lonely, determined, but tormented wolf searching for his mate while shepherding an adorable pack of rescue dogs around the West Coast, and Steve is the righteous but grief-stricken Alpha of an idyllic werewolf pack, who'll do anything it takes to keep his wolves safe under the constant threat of a HYDRA attack.

In the elevator, Nova stood beside Lena closely packed with some interns that were eyeing Lena’s beautiful cheekbones. Lena averted her eyes from their gaze. Nova gave them each a darting glare. Once, the doors open they scampered out, Nova busting out in laughter. Lena had missed what was so funny. She gave Nova a confused look. Quickly, pinned up against the elevator walls, a predatory gaze in Nova’s eyes. Their lips met in a sloppy kiss, biting down on Lena’s bottom lip. The ding of the elevator barely stopped Nova from having her way with Lena. Released her clutch on Lena’s wrists right before the elevator doors open. Lena took her hand whisking them both into her office.
“You are so bad.” They continued kissing all over her office. Ending up back in the same spot as last night.
Jess’s voice coming out of nowhere, “Miss Luthor, a Kara..”
Lena hastily picked and hung up the phone to return to Nova’s lips. Kara opened the door to Lena’s office catching Nova and Lena in a passionate lip lock. Kara’s hand tightened into a fist helplessly watching them.

Kind of a sequel to Vigilante Doordash and… Egg Fried Rice??? but mostly in spirit more than anything else, and if you haven’t read that, it’s all good. If you have read it, this is very different tonally. It leans way more into the agnst whilst still having found family and a good ending.

“Johnny Cash?” Foggy asks, holding up a record cover in earnest. “Didn’t take you for a cowboy.”
“I’ll be whatever they want if it helps me finish the essay.”
The blond laughs, and the timbre of it reverberates in Matt’s chest.
They spend a few moments like that, side by side. Listening to Foggy sort through the pile of music that’s steadily been growing next to his bed. Matt tries his hardest not to lean closer, and feel the warmth roiling off his friend like a furnace.
Since when did they become friends?
Foggy breaks the silence, humming deep in thought. Seems like he couldn’t find anything either.
“Maybe you just haven’t found the right inspiration?” He posits, glancing back.
Matt sighs. Softly this time. “If I fail this class, I’ll know more musical terminology than I ever needed to. Or wanted to.”
Foggy chuckles under his breath. It’s a warm sound, and it fills the room like a symphony. He tucks a strand of blond hair behind his ear.------
