As a way to help Blake get her mind off of her obsession with the White Fang, Yang frequently asked Blake, as well as the rest of Team RWBY, to go to the gym and gain their own powerful bodies.
For some reason, Yang always tried her hardest on Blake. Was it because they were partners? Was it because Yang found Blake the easiest person to talk to as a person? Was it because of the absurd amount of mutual romantic attraction for one another?
Blake didn’t know, but she was starting to get really annoyed, and sooner rather than later, she might just crack under the blonde’s constant begging.

“You get to be the hero in their story, and I get to be the villain in yours,” She chuckles once more, and it’s grating. “That’s what they tell you, right?”
Ruby stiffens, just a little bit, but enough to be seen as an answer. Cinder nods mutely, turning back toward the edge of the rooftop.
“A kid sent to do the dirty work of hundreds who couldn’t,” Cinder clicks her tongue. “So many years, so many lives, so many heroes. They look to you for answers you don’t have–and why would you? You’re barely grown, and you still have so much more to learn. Is it desperation? Fatigue? Do they run from it so you can blunt the blow? Why do they put it all on you?”
Her hand comes up again, the one that’s battered and bruised, but still so clearly human. Her fingers play with the edge of her hood, caressing the material like one would a lover. There’s a moment, just one, where Ruby thinks surely not, and then–
“Is it because of Mother?”
The hood is pulled back, hair let free, and a pale face caught beneath the moonlight above, and the light of the city below.
It’s like staring into a mirror.
