While Tango stands there contemplating on whether he should open the cardboard box now and check its contents among packing peanuts, as well as whether money would be well spent on artsy glass classes, footsteps approach. Tango was used to being careful around flammable things.
It came with the territory of being a blaze hybrid.
Any high emotions could make his hair or tail tuft spark, and that is bad.
When he was eight, he lost control of his emotions.
He was over a friend's house and caught their bedroom curtains on fire.
Thankfully, he and his friend were able to put the flames out, but Tango was not allowed to go over his house again.
Tango rarely went over friends' houses. Maybe once a year, or less.
At home Tango was safer, since his mom had the same trouble, almost everything in the house was flame retardant.
Tango took these precautions into his own life when he moved out.
Couch, curtains, blankets, bed sheets, pajamas, all flame proof.
Sure most of his clothes are too, but he still has a few that aren't, but most are.
He still rarely went over friends' houses to hang out (even as an adult).
That was until he met his boyfriend Skizz, then his other boyfriend, Jimmy.
They are wonderful.
