Summary
Crowley is working to recover from the trauma of his captivity in Heaven, but triggers and flashbacks continue to haunt him. After a wrong move in bed sends him reeling, Aziraphale suggests that they try a bit of D/s play with Crowley as the dominant, to try and help him reclaim some power. It doesn't go well.
This is a fic of a fic! It's based on Repossession by @dreamsofspike. It takes places between the end of Repossession and the epilogue. It came out of a conversation between me and @dreamsofspike about whether D/s play would ever be possible for Aziraphale and Crowley after the events of Repossession, and what it might look like if they tried.

Summary
Crowley's PTSD following the events of Repossession makes it difficult for him to leave the bookshop. Aziraphale worries that all the time spent associating "bookshop" with "safety" is making Crowley's recovery harder, and decides to push Crowley into running a solo errand. Crowley does his best, but triggers abound.
Be warned, this is a brutal one. There is a graphic flashback to a scene of sexual and psychological torture that does not appear in Repossession (but is pretty canon compliant with the events of that fic imo), so please be mindful.

In trauma work, there's a saying: What is now maladaptive was once adaptive. The mindset that allowed Crowley to survive his captivity in Heaven now makes life with Aziraphale difficult, and his anxiety comes to a head after a morning full of flashbacks. Aziraphale, as always, does his best.

After a fight with Crowley, Aziraphale heads to a local mall to clear his head - but he has some pain of his own to contend with. A human steps in and helps out, and Aziraphale learns the importance of tending to his own needs when he's hurting.
This is part of my Repossession Recovery series, but since it's told from Aziraphale's point of view, it doesn't have any flashbacks to Crowley's time in Heaven, making it the least graphic of the stories.

(This is a fic of a fic! It's an alternative ending for dreamsofspike's Repossession!)
No matter what Michael says, in Gabriel's eyes Crowley has failed his test. After all the time Gabriel has devoted to train the demon, Crowley is still loyal to Aziraphale. Gabriel can't accept that. He comes up with a plan to make Crowley give up the principality once and for all but must soon realize that every being has its limits.
UPDATE: The story is technically finished but the ending is just a summary + an epilogue - sorry!
