Sirius turns around, startled. It's the boy he saw in the crowd, the one with the odd dark skin and messy hair.
"Are you talking to me?" he asks. He packs his voice full of lazy arrogance. He is a prince, he reminds himself.
The boy stops, tilting his head. He says, "Do I know you?"

Before fifth year, Sirius Black attempts suicide, his desperate cry for release from a life that never fit. Only Bellatrix finds him, and the family pretends he simply fell into the lake. Remus Lupin's life was amazing, honestly. He had everything, his best friends, James Potter, Peter Pettigrew, and Regulus Black. Only, his other best friend—who was more than that, at this point—didn't exactly know about the last one. When he did find out, he told Severus Snape about Remus' biggest secret.
He would hold this grudge forever, if he had to, and that was okay.
