The exact dating of the Grandfather Paradox is like the rest of him ambiguous, having study with people centuries apart yet not ageing between encounters. The Fourth Renegade is most mysterious. Book Of The War does not tell us who they are. But I think we all know who it is. I think we all know that is is the Evil Renegade.

"There is a reflex tattooed in Pickles’ hindbrain that tastes like being thirteen in his bedroom in Tomahawk just after the front door slams" IERUHVPEIRUFVHEPRIUFHR
Wonderful surreal story about self-acceptance, mental health, and isolation. Somehow uncomfortable yet comforting. Excellent use of show don't tell, such as "He's drinking his vodka but he's not tasting it", and him cracking his knuckles when Toki is showing him what he can do. Illogical things are happening but are presented as normal or hard to evade during normal life, and that helps to create the surreal tone. Told from Pickles' POV with metaphors only he can relate to (like "licking an ashtray") and his logic (avoiding each other because their brothers in the same way he avoids Seth. Side note, this loose change of topics adds to the surrealism). I love him pointing out how he sees the rest of the bandmates and how they're handling the oddicies. I love their deity shards coming out and the team being unable to contain them. These shards affect others, like Toki trying to strangle Pickles to get a reaction out of him.
The uncomfortable is created by them not looking at each other, and avoiding each other like they're all experiencing it at the same time but too scared to talk about it. This discomfort is accentuated by the absurdities happening around them, and the main character himself being uncomfortable. Toki clings to pickles and eventually helps him to accept his abilities, especially in the dream, ending the story in a fullcirlce, similar to the way it began but more comforting. (Also. Wild this story has been brewing in your head for 5 fucking years before it got written down, and it took another 5 years for me to find it)
tl;dr: Awesome fic. Hope its not the only thing I think about for the next month👍

Summary
After expending all of its power to reset Teyvat, the entity known as Celestia has all but vanished, yet its desire to dominate over humanity has never faded. To this end, a fragment of Celestia's original power has gained a following, creating the Celestiae Conventus who will stop at nothing to fulfill Celestia's final wish.
Yet despite Celestia's best efforts, it could not fully destroy its equal and opposite, the Abyss. While weakened, the Abyss still possesses just enough power to oppose Celestia not for humanity, but to take back what was rightfully Hers. To this end, She will share her stories and find Herself a Vessel in preparation for the final battle.
In this world, no Visions are given or received, but it seems that there are a handful of people manifesting superpowers referred to as Gifts. The occurrence of these Gifts seems random, with the general opinion that people who manifest Gifts were once Vision holders before the Cataclysm, a disaster that destroyed the world thousands of years ago, but those in the Hexenzirkel beg to differ.
This may be a new world, but its past still haunts it. It will be up to humanity to finally break free of this cursed cycle and take what is rightfully theirs.
