Summary
It was done. Amphoreus was free.
Yet instead of feeling delight, relief or happiness, Phainon... didn't know how to feel. After all of his emotions had burned along with him to ensure they had a chance at winning, there weren't many of them left to feel. But with the new Dawn, came fragile hope that perhaps things could get better.
And that's when the cracks appeared.
He should have known there was yet another price he had to pay, that his body could never withstand so many cycles. He thought that perhaps he would have more time to finally bask in the sunlight with others, but instead he has to learn to count his days as his mind falls into despair and his body breaks down.
Perhaps the only thing he can do before he runs out of time is... to say goodbye to everyone.

Summary
"Aglaea. Where is Phainon?"
He should have come back two days ago, yet there were no traces of him in the city. Mydei was getting progressively more worried, and even though he didn't doubt Deliverer's combat abilities, he had a bad feeling about this. If anyone knew what happened on that mission, it would be Aglaea.
But instead of answering, her face was laced with slight confusion as she asked,
"Who is Phainon?"

Phainon believes that if he didn't exist at all, the next cycle would end up better than the previous ones. But nothing goes according to plan and he instead deletes most traces and memories of himself in the middle of the cycle, making everyone suddenly forget who he is.Apart from Mydei, that is.

Phainon scratches his head, debating the possibility of this creature being some kind of spy against the Flame-Chase. A human would be thrown out and arrested immediately, but something soft and cute and fuzzy like this could very well be an attempt to slip under their radar.
Although… the chimera maybe-a-spy is doing a terrible job at looking soft or cute. It’s the most sour-faced chimera he’s ever seen. Even the Garden of Life’s chimera literally named “Bad-Tempered” for attitude issues has never held such a fierce look on its face. This chimera probably-a-spy has a serious frown and flat expression. Its small body is wired with tension. Long, sharp claws scratch the marble ground.
“Aglaea?” Phainon asks. “What’s a chimera doing in the Hero’s Bath? Did the little fella get lost?”
The chimera’s eyes suddenly snap open, fierce gaze locking onto Phainon, and it growls.
In which Mydei turns into a chimera, Phainon panics, the other Chrysos Heirs aren’t as bothered as he thinks they should be, and shenanigans ensue.

Mydei thinks back to a more innocent time, when both of them were younger. More naive.
I am simply more capable of enduring pain and suffering than you are, he had told the little hero who wouldn’t stop hovering by his side.
The world will let him down, if he isn’t strong enough to hold it up on his own, he had thought at the time.
If only he knew then, what he knows now.
In a stolen breath between cycles, Mydeimos, Lance of Fury, swaps bodies with Khaslana, Dawn-Denied Deliverer. Revelations are made, and hope is given a chance to burn a little brighter.
