"Before going to sit on the couch, Ash grabs the Biography Derek had written. It may have been overly self deprecating, but it was his. She flipped through the pages one by one, until she reached the part she had written. The book had been left unfinished, and the others deserved to know just how much Derek really cared, underneath the apathy in challenges.
Derek struggled with himself, and it felt like that was the only reason he was eliminated. He was angry at the world, and Tony mistook it for a threat to himself, and to Ash. But Ash was never in danger, and Tony had a habit of misjudging the situation.
Ash wasn’t sure if she could ever look at Tony the way she used to. The man was practically a second father, and she had looked up to him. Instead, she has to sit and wonder if she’s next on the chopping block."

The sun emerges on the horizon, and its rays drive away the monsters. They had only needed to endure the onslaught a few minutes longer. Tío Charlie hovers over them, distressed as he presses his hands, wrapped in his belt sash, on their back to staunch the bleeding.
They can't resist the pull into darkness, into the comforting embrace of sleep. It was cold and frightening, and they couldn't see anything, feeling as though they were drowning. They struggle, choking on the absence of air and trying to do anything.
A pair of arms envelop Tilín, rescuing them from the abyss. They're pulled into the open air, gasping for breath and coughing. Tilín turns to thank Lady Death, but their words catch in their throat. It's Tío Charlie who holds them now.
"Hello, dragon from...” He hesitates. “From Not-Here,”
(Tilin is killed at the hands of Tio Charlie, so when they open their eyes, why is he smiling like that. Why don't they recognise anything? Why don't the people who look like their old Tios seem to recognise them? Why is papa warning them of a masked man?)

One spilled ingredient and all of a sudden the powerful mage Phil has three strange new guests in his home. Wilbur, the alien. A being from the other end of the galaxy. Techno, the time traveler. A powerful and mighty warrior from a time long past. And finally Tommy, the dimension hopper, the child, and the victim all in one. A boy who came from a world so unlike Phil's own.
And what does Phil do? Adopts them on the spot of course.
Or, Phil does a Professor Utonium but instead of chemical X it's a random potion and instead of 3 superpowered toddlers Phil gets 2 traumatized ‘adults’ and a teenager who are all in desperate need of some therapy. So Phil does the next best thing and gives them a family.

Summary
Just before the battle with Thanos, Dr Strange pulls together enough power to send one person to a different dimension. A chance for that person to be safe from the destruction that Thanos was about to wrought on Earth. The group about to fight agreed that Peter Parker, for sheer virtual of being the only person not an adult there, would get the dubious honor.
Which is how Peter finds himself waking up in Gotham City, a place even crueler and darker than New York City. Peter has to try to find a way to fit into this new universe at just sixteen years old.
"I am still just your butler, and I cannot simply tell you that you will be adopting a new son. But I truly am not getting younger. You have seven children now, even if you haven’t adopted all of them legally. There is much more work than when it was just you and I. There is perhaps too much work for just myself, and then providence dropped a starving young man into my pathway for me to mold into a new generation of caretaker,” Alfred tried to explain himself.

Summary
After walking into Cyber's lab at the wrong time, Nightmare is thrown into the Dream SMP. Specifically, Tommy's exile. Nightmare is appalled by Tommy's life story and determined to give Tommy back the last of his childhood. Tommy likes Nightmare but isn't sure he's ready to leave his dimension, no matter how great the other world sounds.
Unfortunately for Tommy, Cyberknife loves his husband and has very little empathy for anyone that is not Nightmare. Turns out going from Fantasy to Sci-fi is a lot harder than Sci-fi to Fantasy, and Cyber has more than a few skeletons in his closet not even Nightmare knows about.
Or: Nightmare, the nice and slightly himbo version of Dream, gets portaled to DSMP, meets Tommy, has a "unfortunately, I love him" moment. And Cyberknife loves his husband enough to tolerate an adopted son. Even if that new son is far too snoopy.
