Sam spared one final glance at the burnt ruins of his home. With his life gone, Sam wished for death.

It wasn’t like Sam completely abandoned all food in an instant. Whether it was a life on the run, or life as a homeless college freshman; time, money, food, they had always been scarce. The only difference now, was that Sam had no tactical reason to limit his intake of food. He was just doing it. Deliberately.

The very obvious factor Sam hadn’t accounted for was that losing weight was noticeable. Very noticeable.
“Sam, you are killing yourself.” Dean shouted, loud enough to make Sam flinch. “You are killing yourself, you see that? Tell me you see that.”
“Yeah, well, maybe I want to!”

The boy had aged, obviously, but more so than that he had changed. He wasn’t the same eager eyed kid that would call for his Uncle Bobby every few seconds to tell him some cool new fact he had learned. He was shut off, cheeks sunken in, and quiet enough to remind Bobby of when Dean used to go mute.
He wondered if John didn’t see it, or if he didn’t care.
“Dad hit Dean” was what Sam opened with. It wasn’t comforting at all, to know this was only the start and Bobby’s blood was already boiling. “They both act like I’m too young to notice, but I do”

Summary
How to make Sammy eat:
1: Get the tasteless low calorie stuff (He won’t eat it otherwise, no matter how much you guilt him)
2: If you want to get some kind of quick calories in him, get him a coffee with chocolate in it, he can’t turn it down for some reason
3: Guilt him if you have to, but don’t put pressure on it. (Sam still gets weird about money, if you buy something he likes but you don’t, he sees it as wasted cash not to eat it)
4: Acting full only works sometimes, you use it too often and he catches on (he’s even crankier when he hasn’t eaten, so, proceed with caution)
5: Protein bars are easier to give him, but they’re a last resort. Proper food is better.

Summary
Jensen, still grief-stricken over the death of his husband, has been restless and moving around frequently since then. He tells himself he has been looking for a place to settle down, but in reality, he is running away from his memories, trying to forget his past. A new job lures him to Moose Lake, Minnesota, where he meets Jared who is living in a rundown trailer on an unkempt property with his dog. Jared is an enigma, living an isolated life. He is insecure, lonely, and vulnerable, burdened with guilt and shame from his past experiences. Despite Jared’s appearance and circumstances, Jensen is inexplicably drawn to him and slowly gains his trust. This seemingly unlikely pair develops a deep, irrefutable, and undeniable bond. Together, they learn to let go, forgive, ask for, and receive help to heal. Most importantly, they learn that it only takes one person to change your whole world for the better if you follow your heart.
