Summary
If there is one thing Ayato knows without a doubt about Thoma, it would be that he cares so much. If he decides you are his friend, he will do anything to keep that person safe and healthy. Ayato has seen how Thoma reacts when he or Ayaka are injured, how he acts without using that beautiful mind of his. There's a very real possibility that Thoma is hurt and yet his well being will always come second to those he loves.
Or: Aether has to witness Ayato and Thoma being affectionate because he's bedridden.

If it was anyone but Peter in the room, the sight would be immensely intimidating. But Peter knew Miguel’s tells too well. The slump of his shoulders, the frown that was more from tired muscles than actual emotion, the mindless way that his eyes would glaze over for a moment or two before returning to awareness.
