Briefly: Earth has been conquered by an alien species of giant insects, who have discovered that humans make the perfect incubators to hatch and nurture their young. After the young have hatched, they need nutrients before they pupate.
Two of the maggots found what they were looking for and clamped those round mouthparts firmly on his nipples – not the far less sensitive areolae, but the actual peaked dripping nipples – and the squeezing and the hanging weight of the larvae made him shake, trying to dislodge them.

Briefly: Earth has been conquered by an alien species of giant insects, who have discovered that humans make the perfect incubators to hatch and nurture their young. While an incubator is not being used by the nest's primary inhabitants, the cleaner beetles also need somewhere to lay their eggs.
A green cleaner beetle hummed around the ceiling, sucking up waste fluid that leaked from one incubator there before moving off, attracted to the newly empty incubator by its scent. The beetle was heavy with eggs that needed to be laid and it landed over the incubator, fluttering its wings mostly back under the iridescent wing-case as it waved its mandibles happily, tasting the air over the incubator.

Summary

This patient was clearly more cooperative, as Dr. Bryant had hoped he would be. His chart marked him as a new involuntary acquisition, which was always a wild card, but he had surrendered himself to the intake facility at his appointed time after the foreclosure procedings had gone through, and he had been compliant with all instructions since then. Any non-compliance would have been written up by the orderlies, the same way Dr. Bryant would note any trouble the patient gave him during his initial exam.
"Good morning, Mr..." Dr. Bryant glanced at the patient's chart again to double-check the name, then set the clipboard on the desk to extend a hand. "Alex Martin, is it? I'm Dr. Bryant."
