Her legs ran as fast as they could carry her. She had to fix this. She kneeled beside her daughter, hands stretched out in front of her, drawing on any energy left in her bruised and beaten body. A small glow flickered before going out. She tried again and again in a desperate attempt to save her little girl. A cold hand grabbed her arm, and her eyes flickered to Elizabeth’s face.
“Stop,” her voice was weak and quiet, obviously strained.
Phoenix dropped her arms; they carefully went to the pale cheeks of her dying girl. She brushed her fingers across them, slow and so gently.
“Mom….It’s going to be okay.” Her hands moved so she was cradling her face and slowly pulled Elizabeth into her lap. Blood soaked into the remaining white of her skirt.

Phoenix loves her family, loves them to the point of sacrifice.

Doc never expected his machine to work, not when half od his Hivemind was already deep asleep and the rest was delusional from insomnia. It started like it should have, but the black cloud of void coming from the inside turned out to be the last of the problems that came with his invention.
