Why should he assume the permanence of Sirius’ death when that line was blurred, when that line was as fragile as the flutter of a Veil? Could fabric not be torn?

Summary
AU envisions that when Sirius told Snape how to get past the Willow in their sixth year at Hogwarts, the Marauders were not fast enough to save him before he reached Remus, in werewolf form, and lost his life. A whole domino effect was set into motion as the rift between the Marauders grew, only to be bridged when the war with Voldemort dragged them back together.

Summary
Gnossienne: something with a dance-like quality
Honestly, Remus had never really thought about Azkaban prison in all his years as a wizard. He sort of assumed it was like the Muggle prisons, like the one his mum worked at, or even—perhaps because of the name similarity—like Alcatraz, a prison on a rock in the middle of nowhere.
What Remus doesn’t expect, as they are Apparated to Azkaban by two Aurors and some member of the Ministry they haven’t been introduced to, is a great castle rising out of the sea like a monolith, the waves crashing against the ramparts. It’s beyond cold up here too, not just because of the North Sea surrounding them on all sides but the Dementors too.
