Summary
The gate is closing.
Dustin lands on the floor of the real-world Munson trailer, managing not to injure anything else this time, but he hardly notices as he sees the rift that has also split the world on this side begin mending itself. The roof and side of the trailer reform, sealing together as the vines and the very crack itself disappears. Looking back up, all Dustin can do is watch as the opening grows smaller and smaller.
"Steve!" he calls, helpless. "No, no, no, no!"
"It's okay!" Steve shouts back to him, even though Dustin knows that it isn't. "We'll find another way out! Get to Nancy and Robin!"
And the vines retreat into the ceiling as the gate seals itself, slicing the last of the hanging sheet in half and leaving almost no trace that a giant portal to another world was ever there at all.
*Or, Steve goes back for Dustin after everything and gets trapped in the Upside Down, alone with Eddie. But that is only the beginning.
This story is from Robin, Dustin, Steve, and Eddie's POVs, as they all deal with what happens now.

Sirius is preparing for a totally normal festive season, complete with his beautiful pooch Padfoot and his best friends Lily and James when his plans are suddenly derailed by a call from his brother telling him that his favourite uncle is dying. He returns to London for the first time in years, anxious and overwhelmed with guilt to brave family politics, say good-bye, and just maybe fall in love with a curly haired hospice nurse who isn't afraid of his mess and takes no shit from his family. A story about losing someone very important and finding a soft place to land in love.

“Wow,” James laughs. “You’ve got it bad.”
“Reckon? I’m not even sure why I’m telling you about all this. You’ve never had these problems, have you? You’re as straight as they come. You wear socks and sandals, for crying out loud!”
James’s eyes flick over to Lily, who’s highly amused over there on her perch but says nothing, clearly not wanting to callously out James to their son without his prior consent. Which is decent of her, of course, but he really could do with a little bit of assistance from his wife as he grapples for the right words.
“Erm,” James laughs nervously, because despite the awkwardness, maybe he really can help here. “Ah, no. Straight?” He clears his throat. “No, not so much.”
Harry’s brow furrows. “You and… Sirius?”
James shakes his head. “Not Sirius. But- ah, did he and Remus ever tell you the story of how they met?”
Harry looks yet more confused. “You went to uni with Remus, right? You introduced them?”
“Right,” James says, mouth curling up at the side. “I went to uni with Remus. I introduced them.”
