Summary
"The name's Scar by the way" he said, still holding the other's hand. It felt atrociously disrespectful to offer to clean another man's wounds without being properly introduced to him. "Or at least that's how people call me," he added, holding out his arm covered in scar tissue.
That was the thing about the apocalypse, most people stopped going by their old names. It made grieving their past lives easier. So they found themselves new identities. Scar didn't really choose his own name, people did because of the scar covering the better part of his face and the others covering his entire body. Most of them from the apocalypse, some of them older. Memories of another life he could never get rid of.
"Anything I can call you by, mister?" Scar asked with a smile.
The stranger frowned, considering his answer for a second. Then shook his head. "No. Not really."

"Cleo sighed, choosing not to argue more with him. The sun was starting to rise anyway. She turned to Bdubs who was finally getting out of his bed, adjusting his cape on his shoulder. He hadn't taken it off in a while, Cleo doubted he even could anymore. Last time they saw him without it on, it looked like the skin of his back was turning into tree bark. It was something Cleo could now see making its way to his left arm. she could only wonder how many more respawns it would take before Bdubs entirely became a part of the forest."
