Summary
Amid increasingly persistent rumors of a new disease spreading globally from the muggle world, and the European magical community’s skepticism about heeding the clear signs of an approaching darkness that threatens all of humanity, the Head of the Department of International Magical Cooperation, Hermione Jane Granger, and her subordinate, Harry James Potter, undertake a political trip to the Magical Congress of the United States of America—or the MACUSA—to negotiate the terms for hosting the next Quidditch World Cup, which will take place on American soil.
However, they will realize that something is terribly wrong… but too late. With no possibility of magically returning to England or any European country while on American territory, and with the muggle world around them collapsing from its very foundations, both magicals will once again be forced to do what neither ever wished to experience again.

I have often wondered that if, either of them died, the other would realize how much they loved the other one. And I think they would had realized that much.
While I normally don't like Angst very much, writing it and reading it, this type of Angst is the only one I can say I like, even love. The desperation of knowing you never told her/him - I have yet to see a fic where Harry is the one who dies and Hermione is the one that has this realization - that you loved them, above all other things... it is just intoxicating. And specially when the other one dies by something one can't control, not like a murder, but from natural causes.
The prose is absolutely brilliant, the ending gave me chills - they are going to be together in the end - and mirrors what I feel for her. Who's her? You will have to guess, but it is not that hard.
This is a must read. -
