“I lost my legacy, too, but it isn’t Las Nevadas. The whole thing can burn down today, and it wouldn’t even fucking matter because I can always rebuild it again. El Rapids is gone, that’s why Las Nevadas is standing here. I destroyed it, dirt by dirt, but that isn’t how you lose a legacy.”

“How long have you been grieving, Quackity?” Wilbur brings his hands to rest next to his, effectively caging him. “Have you been hurting?” He leans closer. “Must be lonely, holed up all alone in your own nation. I can keep you company.”

His jaw clicks shut after he trails off. Gods, he should've written out what he wanted to say beforehand. He shouldn't have thrown away the bullet point list he made when he got embarrassed, too deep in his own head thinking about how stupid he might look unfolding a piece of parchment in the middle of therapy and reading out his problems like a grocery list.
