Carl wakes up miserable on his seventeenth birthday. He’s nauseous and bloated, his chest is sore, he slept 12 hours and still feels exhausted.
And he’s pregnant.
They got back from Europe four days ago. Carl hasn’t said a word to Peter since that day on the bridge. They sat apart at the airport and on the plane, and he even called Shane to pick him up and take him home instead of going with May like he planned.
Shane is definitely weirded out by Carl suddenly being home again, but he hasn’t said anything. He’s been pretty pleasant actually and Carl wonders if it’s his instincts picking up on his distress. Or his pregnancy. Carl is dreading Shane finding out.
Based on the researching Carl has done and how he’s been feeling, he knows he’s pregnant. No doubt about it. As for how he feels about it? TBD.
Fuck his fucking life.

Peter checks his back before hopping up onto the side of his building to crawl up to his bedroom window on the top floor.
He soundlessly slides the window open, crawling inside and sliding it shut with his foot before crawling across the ceiling to close his door quietly. May is in the kitchen, Carl must be either still out or at Shane’s.
Peter drops himself to the floor slowly, still careful to not make any sound.
When he turns around, he comes face to face with Carl, gaping at him from where he was laying on his bed. “So it’s fucking true, that footage wasn’t just cool ass editing.”
“Ca- holy shi- what’re you-?” Peter’s heartbeat pounds in his ears as he stumbles back.
“You’re Spiderman!”

Summary
Their encounter had been such a strange little blip in the weeks after Lucille's death that he sometimes wonders if he'd just imagined the entire thing. Like Carl was some magical little twink mirage in the desert that appeared out of nowhere wanting to have sex with him on a random flight from Atlanta and then inexplicably slipped away the next day as quickly as he appeared. It was mind boggling.
And it all had remained a mystery to the man until he had been startled awake at 2:32am by a call from an unknown number. In his haze of exhaustion he picked up before he could think better of it.
Looking back, he thanks whatever cosmic entity is out there running this show that he did.

That morning shouldn’t have been horrible. Should have been the opposite. Because after 7 fucking years of living in utter hell he woke up to find that suddenly life was normal again- there was a Starbucks on the corner, a damn Target half a mile away where he could cruise the hot moms picking out bananas. He could get in his truck and go anywhere he wanted to. Go to his normal job as a fucking high school gym teacher like nothing had ever happened.
Except- it did.
It becomes known as living in The After, for those people who woke up that day and had absolutely no memories of normal civilization starting 7 years ago, who had fought to survive all those years.
And Negans fine accepting that. He's fine living with those memories.
Until Carl Grimes shows up in his fucking gym class and remembers it all too.
