She coughed and sputtered, rising up out of the water when its salt and spray covered her face. She tried to open her eyes, but screwed them shut and shook her head when the blinding light of the bright star that was this planet’s sun flooded her vision. Her wet hair stuck to her face and neck in heavy, saturated clumps. The waves continued to crash over her, not in an overwhelming sense, but in the fluid action they continued to do whether she was there or not. She coughed again and finally put her hand up over her brow to block some of the bright light so she could look around.
