Tarquin gets hit with an amnesia spell and the last bloody year of his life is gone. Trying to pick up the pieces, he makes assumptions that don't come back to bite him in the arse whatsoever.
Contains: a confrontation with a sloth demon, Tarquin getting his arse handed to him, an ex-Venatori blood mage hell-bent on solving this problem, and a very confused Ashur—not necessarily in that order.

The first official action Dorian takes as Archon, after weeks of careful planning and the quiet removal of as many Venatori-aligned Magisters as the Shadow Dragons were able to blackmail or corner alone in a dark alley, is to declare slavery illegal in the Tevinter Empire.
The second action he takes, before the yelling has even died down and while his bodyguards are still pinning the latest noble scion to try and kill him to the marble floor, is to legalize marriages between partners of the same gender.

Because Ashur decided to slip away and try to bring down a pack of blood mages alone, even though he’s eaten up with Blight.
Because he didn’t tell Tarquin.
(In which Ashur almost throws his life away, and Tarquin can't bear this any longer.)
