After Hunter went through the portal to the Demon Realm, he had arrived at Eclipse Lake. He camped out there with Luz, Amity, Gus, Willow, and Camila for the rest of the night. When morning came, they reunited with their parents. They soon ran into The Collector. They were separated. Now Hunter has to work with Lilith to find everyone.

“Mr. Wright,” Klavier says. He makes a concerted effort to sniffle in however much he can to minimize his nose dripping. His red eyes and his general disheveled-ness can’t be helped. “Don’t tell me someone’s sent you looking for me. I told everyone I didn’t feel like coming to the party.”
Phoenix chuckles and shakes his head. He reaches into his pocket and digs out a keychain with half a dozen keys in it. He inserts one into the garden gate and lets himself in. He sits next to Klavier and produces a bottle of gin from his rucksack.
“Don’t flatter yourself, kid,” he says as playfully as he can manage, considering the way his hands shake as he attempts to unscrew the bottle, the way his voice quavers. “I have my own reasons for being here. Remember - weak men, drinking alone, something along those lines. But here you are, ruining my plans.”

Summary
Kristoph thinks it's actually quite reasonable to have OCD about poisoning his dog when he does, in fact, keep deadly poisons in the house. But when Phoenix feeds Vongole an unspecified treat, Kristoph cannot allow his carelessness to go unpunished. He has to let him know how it feels to be truly terrified by disgust.
Placing the raw meat on a plate, Kristoph takes a steak knife and a fork and then presents it to Phoenix. Against the white marble countertop and in the harsh cool lights of the kitchen, the silverskin on the meat shines blue and gives off the illusion that the tissue is still pulsing with life. Kristoph takes a sharper chef’s knife from the drawer behind him and deftly cuts away the membrane, exposing the deep, bloody red underneath. It’s a fine steak. He paid good money for it.
“Eat it.” He commands.
